Wesnoth 0.6.99.2 released

Post by miyo »

Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo.

In this second release of 0.6.99-series the dwarves have joined the rebels and march in the battle [1]. Changelog can be found at http://changelog.wesnoth.org.

Manual has been updated and we are considering including GettingStarted and AdvancedTactics with game. It is still good time to contribute and enhance these documents in our Wiki, which can be reached thru http://wiki.wesnoth.org

Source tarball and md5sum can be found here:

http://www.wesnoth.org/files/wesnoth-0.6.99.2.tar.gz
http://www.wesnoth.org/files/wesnoth-0. ... tar.gz.md5

A Windows binary (by Dave) is available at http://www.wesnoth.org/files/win-0.6.99.2.exe

devsrv.wesnoth.org is running 0.6.99.2 and can be used for multiplayer games.

Bugs should be reported on Savannah, which can be reached thru http://bugs.wesnoth.org

Namárië,

It's quite an impressive changelog, something you don't notice so much when regularly checking out CVS

"fixed bug where killing an enemy that caused an [endlevel] event to occur prevented advancement by the unit killing"

Yay! This is one I've been experiencing since 0.6.1, it's not a huge bug, but it is annoying all the same. Thanks!

Some screenshots (which can be used on http://www.wesnoth.org screenshots page if there are any suitable ones). These are from surviving against overhelming enemy (new AI playtesting) game that I and Dave were playing.

Now that's a lot of units. What colors were you playing as?

Dave is yellow (elves), I am purple (elves). Game settings:

* 30 turns to survive [1]
* no shroud, no fow, 3 gold per village
* me and Dave allied, both starting with ~500 gold
* 2 loyalists, 2 northeners and 2 undead in alliance (against us) and each start with 999 gold

Why such settings? We are testing new AI code. What new AI code? http://changelog.wesnoth.org

(True, the screenshots are from 0.6.99.3-CVS and not from 0.6.99.2, but no-one can tell the difference)

[1] Game engine does not support survival multiplayer scenarios... we just agreed what are victory conditions for us.
