So who are these mysterious 'developers'?
Often people seem to go around speaking of how things will have to hold until a 'developer' makes a decision. However I sense some level of confusion about who these mysterious 'developers' are. So, here's a list. I hope I don't miss anyone
I list next to each developer the main area of responsibility they are associated with, although it's not necessarily their only area.
This list is based mainly on those who have CVS access. That is the primary mark of a developer -- one who has CVS write access.
Senior Developers
Dave - lead developer
Miyo - release co-ordinator, tester
fmunoz - lead artist
Developers
Shade - campaign developer: The Rise of Wesnoth
benj - Son of the Black Eye
Cedric/MightyRabbit - French translation lead
Eleazar - artist
Eponymous Archon - text content editor
erl - coder
ettin - web site, user interface design
frame - artist
Ayin - coder, artist
isaac - coder
jbmesserley (inactive) - coder
Jetryl - artist
silene - coder
Sithrandel - OSX porter
Skovbaer - translation co-ordinator

For, some reason, i felt like sorting it for easier reference. (some people appear in multiple catagories, and i put them in based on the descriptions dave gave, so complain to dave if they're wrong).

Well... while you consider that you should be listed as developer... I consider myself as "contributor who has been hanging around for too long"Neoriceisgood wrote:Y'know I would have been on that list if I had cvs access :x
Some contributors, like you Neorice, actually do more stuff for the game than some developers. Not that we want to start calculating who is doing and how much.
- Miyo
as would anyone else who had CVS access.Neoriceisgood wrote:Y'know I would have been on that list if I had cvs access
(i mean, dacyn has contributed the tutorial, and he's not on the list either. )

i assume dave put you in because you are a campaign developer, although you don't have access.Circon wrote:And I don't have CVS access.

I'm mainly anything in SDLMacOSXMain.m / .h / .nib to make the game feel as Mac like as possible to Mac users so they don't get that OSS ported jolt when they start up (or heaven forbid have to compile & install)
or tweaks to the main source code to make it work on as many Macs as possible, as fully as possible.
I'm happy to add Mac functionality (i.e. where the game meets the OS) but I don't add new functionality to the core code as I don't understand SDL well enough for that

I'm really looking for "The Return of Skovbaer", as I'm also the "guy which uploads translations to CVS" just now
I've done some minor additions to the game, like the option
to select the port to connect/run the server, invisibility (not completely)
(nightstalk and ambush) and random faction in MP games.
I also try to close some bugs when I have enough time.
Oh, I also stay for hours in the IRC, and try to annoy Cedric when possible.

Do I need to mention that bugging isaac is one of my most important missions in life, and one that I take very very seriously?isaac wrote:Oh, I also stay for hours in the IRC, and try to annoy Cedric when possible.
Well, apart from that, I once was responsible for various things related to graphics, units, campaigns, etc. ... which I became tired with, and now I'm just a random developer who scratches some itches, and whose fields of interest shift every once in a while.
Nowadays, I'm with isaac the serial-gettext-commiter. And I currently feel like doing some C++ coding. Of course, all this might have changed within a month, a week, or even a day.
