AI bug: act stupid while ZOCed

Post by YbeRn00b »

AI seem to dislike being ZOCed a lot, and may leave keeps, villages or even 70% for 40% when ZOCed by units it would have a better chance to handle from the current spot. I did first see the problem in 1.1.7

The AI also likes to head north a lot. In Morituri it always seems to go after the person at the top rather then the one at the right.

Yeah, I've often seen a ZoC'ed leader move from his keep to something like swamp to attack a unit he could have attacked from the keep he was already standing on with better defenses. Not that I mind that a lot in campaigns, where the enemy leaders are usually pretty dangerous, but it's quite silly nevertheless.

The AI has a lot of little problems, but I'm not sure that you can call them bugs so much as a lack of capability. AI is hard to code from what I know and have heard. :(
