Can't start 1.5.4 on Windows ME - libcairo-2.dll message
After downloading BfW 1.5.4, which installed fine, it won't start. I get two messages:-
"C:\Program Files\Battle for Wesnoth\wesnoth.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning."
"The LIBCAIRO-2.DLL file is linked to missing export GDI32.DLL:GetFontUnicodeRanges."
Operating system is Microsoft Windows Millenium. It's a clean install.
Is this a problem with BfW or a problem at my end? Any help would be appreciated.

Problem with BfW because it now depends on Cairo (the same reason you won't get Firefox 3, btw). You could try to install KernelEx, maybe you'll get lucky.

Thank you. (And yes, Firefox 3 is not an option for me either )
I think the best solution for me is to replace my eight year old home computer with something a little newer!

Your best solution is to get rid of ME. I don't know if your computer will run XP, but I'm sure some flavor of linux will run on it.
