313. When explaining to a young child about the dangers of crossing the street, you mention the poor defense pedestrians get on road terrain, the fact that cars have a very powerful charge attack, or the need to make sure you have enough movement points to get all the way across before any cars arri...

Dragons have wings, arms and legs; Wyverns have wings and legs; Wyrms have wings. There are also lindworms, which have legs but not wings. They may or may not have small arms or forelegs, but in any case they walk on two legs. They are fast enough to overtake a man on horseback. Beyond that... The ...

Re: Unit Change Ideas

Orc Grunt cost raised to 13 from 12 well many will disagree but ive seen some abuse with mass grunts lately that has really worked well What, is there a faction that doesn't have a mixed fighter (i.e., a unit with both ranged and melee attacks, like the Elvish Archer)? Grunts are terribly weak agai...

You frequently catch yourself humming Wesnoth music when you're away from your computer. You complain when a scenario is removed from a campaign, because it makes the campaign shorter -- and it was already too short, since it doesn't last all day. Wherever you go, you instinctively evaluate the &quo...

Say, did anything ever come of this? This discussion took place around the time of 1.0, and I was really looking forward to it. I recently upgraded to 1.2 and +3HP seems to still be the only AMLA in the game. Was the idea scrapped due to difficulty balancing it, or has it just not been implemented y...

186. You blog several times a day about your experiences playing through various user-contributed campaigns on the hardest difficulty levels without reloading saved games. 187. You refuse to save anything but replays. 188. When you post your replays on the forum, people assume you must have used ext...

Scout: Probably gryphon rider, although the lack of a level 3 is a little annoying. But the movement is good (except in caves), and they can actually stand a little combat, unlike, say, bats. Ranged: Elvish archer. Because they can stand against most kinds of units (having a decent melee is key here...

You actually do feel like you're levelling up as you get older, because you get radical new abilities you didn't have before. It's totally friggin' sweet. :D No kidding. I think I was 25 or so when I started to discover that I now actually have the coordination to do some of the things they tried t...

HI (Heavy Infrantry) has the worst movetype combined with with very little mp, low defense and does 0-0 ranged damage and 0-0 magical damage. Which makes him at least a really bad archer, a really bad caster and definitely the worst scout. According to that logic, the worst scout would be the tower...

The only actual photos of myself that are online, as far as I know, were taken at work on Halloween. My employer has a photo gallery, where we put photos usually of public events that we have, but after Halloween we put up the photos of the encostumed staff. Here is one of me... http://cgi.galion.li...

Re: The Rise of Wesnoth: Peoples in Decline

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? Medium, circa 1.0 (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) I find it hard to compare scenarios for difficulty, as they are difficult in different ways, but on the whole I guess that this scenario fit well, diff...

The axe handle on that warrior suffers a bit from pixelation. I know it's hard to avoid with sprites, with so few pixels to work with and the need to work with a variety of backgrounds, but it really reached out and grabbed my attention there.

Does this mean I am litterally lost, as far as I have no 3rd levels, and only one outlaw, one white mage and 5 trappers at 2nd level? It would be very difficult to beat this scenario with only one healer. You need to keep your healers in pairs on this level, so that they can heal one another, and y...

The existence of command-line options should, however, probably be better advertised. Like in a man page or with a --help parameter? Well, there too, but I was thinking more like here: http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/WesnothManual Maybe even here: http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/GettingStarted It isn't nec...
