Re: What's your record for number of attacks without a hit?
A 0.0000000000000000000001% chance to miss is still a chance to miss. 1 in a million chance is still 1, not 0. Still, that kind of luck is unbelievable as I've never had to waste more than 3 units just to KO another with 1 hit. Maybe you could post that replay and the RNG whiners would surely be hap...

Re: Gladiators
Excuse me for the newbish question, but how exactly where should I place the downloaded contents from the zip file to play this mod? I am only able to play the very first version of this game (the one where gladiators can only buy throwing knives, and keeper gets no other recruits other than his sta...

Re: [1.8] Mandatory Child Missing WML bug
I found it hard to reproduce as well. Yesterday the error came up in 3/3 games that I played while today it came only in 1/4.
it was a major annoyance - good to know it has been fixed

[1.8] Mandatory Child Missing WML bug
Everytime I try to host a multiplayer game, I get this bug after playing for a few turns. This apparently happens no matter what scenario I play, so I think it has something to do with Wesnoth itself. What this bug basically does is give a warning to the host 'Mandatory Child Missing WML untested' a...

No, nothing at all. Probably a backtrace would help, but I'm using Windows atm...
Try playing it once, save it, restart your computer and try to reload it. Do you get the same error?

[1.6.5] Add-on 'Troubled Times' disappears from add-on list
Hi, Recently I was playing the MP Campaign 'Troubled Times' with a couple of friends. We played for a few hours and saved it for another day. Today, as I was reloading the save, it says 'Unknown unit - 'Qinthalash'. On checking further, I discovered that the add-on has just disappeared from my 'Crea...

Complaint about misuse of pseudos for defamation
Before you dismiss this as an e-drama, as you did last time, I would like to point out to you that I have proof of whatever I'm saying here. I have painstakingly copied each and every relevant line from the lobby chat over here, manually, by hand. 2-3 hours ago, I was going to start a game with my f...

1.6.4 Modified Theme Music?
Is it only me, or was the opening music really modified? I think the drums sound somewhat softer compared to two versions ago. And some changes to the accompaniment as well...hmm...

Re: A freely modifiable wesnoth boardgame
The idea of mana is fancy and all, but how exactly is this going to simplify things? And saying that 'you can use mana or not, it is up to you' is as good as Dave saying 'you can use RNG or not, it is up to you'. It just doesn't work like that. The rules and regulations have to be established firmly...

Re: Doc Paterson Jr.?
By your replies, I gather that using pseudos are not encouraged, but nothing will be done against those who actively use these against others? Does this mean that we can openly carry out such acts against other users, even with our registered forum names? [sarcasm=on] I'm beginning to like your rule...

Re: Doc Paterson Jr.?
My first post here is on such a subject :? But I can't and I do not want to keep quite here. Unfortunately the piece of evidence isn't available anymore. With some common sense and a few clicks, I'm sure you could find this yourself: http://wesnoth.org/replays/1.6/20090505/2p_-_Hornshark_Island_Tur...

Re: playing Wesnoth for real money
Won't it send an OOS message to the cheated player, if the cheater attempts to cheat by manipulating the numbers?
It could then be declared a draw, and a rematch would be in order.

Re: A little suggestion for multiplayer (notify server problems)
I have edited the ping_timeout in the preferences file from "0" to "30". Sadly to say, there is still no error message popping up whenever I am disconnected (I'm sure I was waiting for more than 30 seconds). Currently, the only way I can find out if I am dc or not is if I whisper...

Re: A little suggestion for multiplayer (notify server problems)
Done.
Now just one little question: Can I ping the server manually? I've seen some people who think that they disconnect type 'ping'.
