To answer some of the comments: Ewan wrote: The first time I went to investigate the undead, many of my men died - not until I defended the village rather than try to investigate the ruins at all did we survive. Perhaps, but be careful. You'll need leveled units for later on, and just waiting aroun...

Right: restarting under 1.0 avoids the problem.

Poison is a huge deal in these scenarios, especially with the Crypt's absence of villages and no healer units available! Scary.

Continued feedback: I liked the assassin scenario - felt very Warcraftish, actually, but I am a fan of including small-scale encounters in the mix. Again, though, no early-finish bonus when I killed off the assassins :(. Then, the game froze, as it failed to find the unit 'Vampire Lady' when sttempt...

I get to give the first feedback? Neat :). I started it up under 1.1.2, though, so the mismatch of combat styles was kinda annoying. The first time I went to investigate the undead, many of my men died - not until I defended the village rather than try to investigate the ruins at all did we survive....

I suppose this is karma...

..immediately after the previous post, the RNG smiled on me preposterously, allowing the lich to miss with *all* of his ranged attacks in response to a mage of light's attack. So, I'm through, but it was through desparation rather than any tactical nous.

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? Several, but currently on hard, 1.1.2. (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 10. Impossible - I get to recall only 4 units, and none of my troops (mage of light, master bowmen, javelineer, dragoons, whomever...

Yes at the time I needed 3 days per scenario and I'm working on them as we speak, but life takes precedence you know... This is just a hobby to me and I don't feel like I have a deadline to catch. Indeed :). Just played through the campaign. Was honestly expecting not to be thrilled, because Sauria...

Targetting Alanin was one of my problems - the outriders consistently killed off only those spearmen needed to allow them to get to Alanin. Ah well. The most similar scenario I can think of - Dwarvern Doors - I could never see the difficulty with, but this one I've died in twenty-two times now... it...

Thanks, Scott. Taking a year off from Wesnoth clearly deleted too many memories :)

Fire Dragon missing?

Two things. First, if someone has a walkthrough, or replay, or even guidance as to how to complete Outriding the Outriders, I'd appreciate it. Spearmen - even on mountains - are knocked over by two outriders, but even if they took 3 or 4 my dragoon would still die. [It *might* be more doable if the ...

Hmm... I would like to pin down this bug. I have it working under BFW 0.8.3 and 0.8.4 (on a OS 10.3.5 system). That makes me think it's not the WML, but I don't know what else would cause this. Hitting escape maybe! (you're missing out on some more eye candy) Has anyone else encountered problems wi...

For the 'playable story' levels I had a hard time with the difficulty. For example, when you try to sneak into the town, basically there is no difference between the difficulties. I gave easy some more turns in case they made a mistake and got attacked, but that was it. Fair enough. I actually scre...

I suppose a lack of feedback indicates a lack of interest, but I would like to hear if anyone at least finishes it. In any case, it was fun, and that is what it is all about. No, lack of feedback indicates satisaction :-). I have not played this latest iteration yet, but will do so pronto. However,...

Re: Scenario Review: Crossroads

Chiming in here just because my experience on this level seems so diifferent to everyone else's. (1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on? (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) Easy, medium. 1, 3. I just have not seen the problems that others have: the NW leader's tro...

Hmmm. Didn't know there were any short Woses left. I thought they bred selectively for height. Photosynthesis, you know.
