Drakes vs drakes as well, clashers win against everything I guess. This is a completely different topic of course, but I'd say the ultimate blend in that case is a moderate amount of tribalists, some skirmishers and a lot of clashers. Oh yeah its better to have a mix thats not really what I saying....

Also lowering the hammer attack by 1 damage won't matter much as either way skeletons will still only take three hits. A better non-painful change might be to reduce the movement of ulfserkers to 4, at the moment their mobility is so just good you don't really even need to guard them just like park ...

I think theres a problem whereever you have a unit thats better at everything than something else. I mean err knalgans vs knalgans if you imagine a game where one player can only recruit dwarf fighters and the other player can recruit anything but. The dwarf fighter guy is going to win most times ye...

Hunters are ok in direct fights vs the other two water units sure. But those situations don't come up that much unless you only play on blitz, otherwise they seem much less useful to me. Would it be a problem just letting rebels have both types of merman?

I just meant I think skeletons could be improved in general somehow, obviously not specifically as a fix to balance undead and knalgans.

Ranking is one way of finding people of equal skill. Knowing them is another. It takes a little bit longer to find the right persons but on the other hand provides more communication. Do ranks keep people in the game longer? That surely depends on what you want. Either you play for having fun or yo...

I don't think theres any faction 1v1 matchup where one side doesn't have some sort of significant advantage and a lot as well tends to depend on the map and first turns etc, etc. Undead vs Knalgans, knalgans definately have the upperhand for me, but then undead are somewhat better against rebels, no...

Depending on the map, adepts aren't all that good against drakes anymore. To win with magic units you normally need to have the iniative and attack first. But now that corpses don't have zone of control you can't use them to screen out enemies like you used to be able to. Without that protection the...

Its really very easy to win over drakes with northerners on most maps. Just recruit lots of cheap units, take more villages and massively outrecruit them. Trolls are the worst unit you can have though, because of drake impact resistance like dalk says. Stick to grunts, spearmen and assassins and its...

Yeah dwarf fighters counter basically everything that the undead can recruit, even at night. Undead can win by like grinding out an economic advantage and weakening the knalgan units using poison and corpses but it only works on certain maps.

I'd rather have flares than fire drakes even fighting against woses. The extra hp makes more difference than an extra attack imo.

The fire drake is pretty pointless. The extra fire resistance is useless, and the flare not only has about even attack power but more hp and leadership as well. Just no comparison.

Recruiting level 2 units is a waste of gold anyway imo. I'd say the shadow and necro are more useful than wraiths now but even those aren't worth buying against 2-3 level 1 units most of the time. And none of the undead lvl2 units are significantly better than orc warriors which only cost 22gp.

Saurians are vulnerable to cold and fire and have much lower base hp than fencers too and worse defence as well. Unless your opponent is very careless (includes most people on multiplayer, I know) they just aren't that good. Even on a desert map you'd be better served by fighters and burners.

For wraiths, attack them in the day with archers or pillagers after slowing them. If you weaken their melee so they can't drain so much hp back, they aren't much of a problem. You need to use zone of control as well to hold them so they can't retreat. Trolls will eat up skeletons.
