I think this thread will answer your questionTelchin wrote:Also I was thinking about maybe recording this game and putting it on youtube. I see there are other videos on youtube, but I could not find an official policy or anything. I just don't want to get into trouble.

Re: Giving range attacks a range
Yes, that's why I linked you to the web interface of the 1.8 add-on server, which doesn't actually require BfW 1.8. You just search what you want, click download and get the add-on as a .tar.bz2 archive. As I said, it probably wouldn't work on 1.10, but looking at how others have done something simi...

Re: Giving range attacks a range
Yes, that's possible, it's also been done before: you might want to check out "Ranged era" on the 1.8 add-on server . However, it's possible that that add-on doesn't work on 1.10. Basically, this would be realized with the right-click menu. First you select the attacking unit somehow, then...

Re: Unknown Unit Type
Try instead of just
Code: Select all
[+units]
{~add-ons/Red_Winter/units}
[/units]
{~add-ons/Red_Winter/units}

Re: ASCII text editor
I use Notepad++ and I often hear people recommend it as a text editor, although I think it's Windows-only. Never had any problems modifying Wesnoth files with it.

Re: 1.9 SP Campaign - Sweet Revenge
Yes. Haven't tried 1.11 yet, but if I should ever do so, I'll upload it there too. Also, this thread is fine, no need for a new one - I also linked here in the campaign decription using those shortened forum links, making copying it manually much easier.bigkahuna wrote:I'm assuming it's uploaded on 1.10?

Re: 1.9 SP Campaign - Sweet Revenge
I just uploaded Sweet Revnge v1.0.2, and it finally works again without having to mess around with files
Apart from occasional bugfixes and some polishing, there isn't all that much to do, but I'll still gladly accept anyone who wants to contribute or join.

Re: 1.9 SP Campaign - Sweet Revenge
I wouldn't mind taking over maintenance. My WML knowledge is a little bit rusty, but it won't be too hard to pick up again. I also wouldn't have a problem with cooperatively maintaining it with Crow_T or someone else.

Re: Scheduled testing of UMCs
Dugi, I don't think the idea was to instantly delete something that doesn't work, but rather notify someone who can fix it and flag the camapgin as "currently not working". Development versions often remove/change mainline macros or tags which makes older camapgins crash, so when the uploa...

Re: 1.9 SP Campaign - Sweet Revenge
There are two possibilities: a) Uploading a separate add-on called "Sweet Revenge (fixed)", which wouldn't be a very good solution IMO b) Getting the password for the campaign so the original one can be fixed Of course, asking an administrator for the password would work theoretically, but...

Re: 1.9 SP Campaign - Sweet Revenge
Well, of couse it'd be nice to upload a new version to the server, but as bigkahuna said some posts above he's on an indefinite Wesbreak and not actively maintaining it anymore. I guess he'd gladly pass maintenance to someone else, though, if someone finds a way to contact him.

Re: 1.9 SP Campaign - Sweet Revenge
I don't think playing on 1.8 will work, because of [removeitem] -> [remove_item] and probably other things too. The problem with 1.10 is that the campaign uses several macros that are no longer mainline. scenarios/9_Outer_Defenses.cfg uses the REMOVE_ITEM macro 13 times, you need to replace all of t...

Re: Limits on modifying units.
Yes, you can use multiple [effect] tags (you can also try a comma-separated list first, not 100% sure about that though). You can use [and]/[or]/[not] in attack filters from 1.11 onwards.

Re: Not just "more random"
I don't know, 7x damage just seems a little much to me. That would be pretty much instakill in many unit matchups. I usually try to make sure that no important unit can die even if all attacks hit, but something like this would mess that up (and you know it'll always happen at the worst time). Doubl...
