Yes, I just wanted to provide a layered version so it would be easier to make one without the background, and to make variations/improve it.

Yes, Squash it 50% vertically.

How Freeciv looks are determined by several factors, where the most important might be: * Which client you use: GTK2, XAW, SDL, WIN32, ... These vary a lot in appearance. The GTK2 client is very complex, has a lot of options and looks a bit bland since it uses an application toolkit not geared towar...

I find the lens flare a bit to much. Otherwise it looks very good.

The old elven villages need to be redone because they obviously don't match the much nicer new elven villages. Not sure what you're refering to here... afaik there are four elven villages, two of them are slightly newer (elven3.png and elven4.png) but I wouldn't say they are so much better than the...

I get a weird feeling about this, it seems as if the village was standing on top of the S-W wall... The village's shadow is too dark, and layers wrong. These old "elven" villages need to be redone eventually. Why? I think they look good and "elvish". To avoid the above problem, ...

Would it be too much to ask if _something_ on the 1.2.x branch could be released by the next update? I'm running Ubuntu, and the most recent file I can find on the wiki pages is the 1.1.8 release candidate, and the binary/source builds go back even to 0.8.8. I'd rather be running on the 1.2.x stabl...

PC-cillin sounds like a shoddy piece of software.

Now that we have more letters to work with I thought I could ressurect this thread again. I can't really remember how far along I was with these with regards to jetryls last comment so I'll just link all the tiles so we can take it from there. I guess another question is if these are up to scratch a...

Brasto, you are absolutely correct, but in the world of Windows it seems convenience (or a perceived convenience) more often than not trumps security.

Oops, I misunderstood. But I'm still not sure if it'looks good. We'll have to try it I guess. And while a glacier itself is certainly natural, a glacier coming out of a river/lake it probably not :) Yeah, I can see that. However I think what we gain by using somewhat exaggerated features on transit...

btw, the snow transition should be removed and use the ice trans with a smaller snow trans on top. I did start on this some time ago, I'll dig it up again. I disagree for the same reasons I didn't use the current ice transition on top of land: It looks completely unnatural, like a glacier. It would...

Other thoughts. • Since the mountains are designed to blend seamlessly with their associated hill type, it makes sense to me to use the actual hill transitions for mountains. (Mountains generally have foothills anyway.) So to add new desert or snow mountains no new transitions would need to be made...

Sure

Subfolder is fine, I just don't want everything in the same folder.
