Mind you, the factions are just unit groupings that make logical and balanced sets in multiplayer. That being said, The Rise of Wesnoth features units from the Knalgan Alliance as playable characters and Under the Burning Sands features a set of units that does not appear in the Default multiplayer ...

I never associated Myrmidons with anything other than Myth. The name and appearance are an obvious Myth reference, yes, but since Myrmidon is also a generic warrior title I don't really see the issue...

I'm running Wesnoth v1.2 on a Dual 1ghz G4 with OSX 10.3.9. After reading this thread I connected to the official multiplayer server and compared the lobby lag difference depending on whether Binary Saves are on or off. I tested lobby performance with a few different variations: a.) Going into lobby...

Re: undead ZOMBIES

i find that the zombies are to weak and are useless because every kill gives 8 xp so to make a zombie more effective would be to make it so when they die they dont give a crap load of xp that would help ppl play the good old classic mass zombie style Hi. Are you referring to Walking Corpses? For ki...

Ethical? Maybe not. Realistic? Yes. :P

The game is simulating thousands of years in time... Someone is going to pick a fight in that time.

I, personally, feel that that said piece of dialogue works better when referring to them as zombies.

Just because Walking Corpse works better in a metagaming sense, doesn't mean that in-game dialogue between characters can't reflect the cultural or personal nuances of those characters.

I have a 100% English copy, so I know it exists. I'm not sure where I got it from, but I'm sure Google would know.

Spying: Yes, this is a problem, it is unfair and not intended. However, i don't see a way to overcome it. We might prevent multiple connections from the same ip address but that would mean you couldn't put more than one person behind a router. There is no reliable way to detect, if someone gets in ...

Don't get discouraged! I know that's easier said than done, but remember that you're part of a process. Look at me... There I am, in Wesnoth's Art Credits, right between mog and Sangel. How much of my art is in 1.1.12? None. Absolutely nothing. Zilch. So why am I in the credits? I provided artwork t...

Unfortunately I think it's anything else but good press. Clicking on the Download Now button opens a FilePlanet page where it says "Download Battle for Wesnoth Demo". It's a full game, licensed under GPL so it's not a demo as they say. I agree. While it does provide some mainstream exposure for Wes...

Not to criticize, but in my mind adding a single frame for each unit depicting critical HP ( why would you need new frames for every animation? Every sprite-based game I can think of off-hand that used this only changed the standing/idle frame/animation ) is a far better use of artistic resources th...

Wonder if that guy figured out about resistances, specials, terrain, and time of day? HttT on Normal isn't so hard if you get all that down and use a little strategic thinking. Would it surprise you? I'm not familiar with that error because I haven't done Wesnoth mapmaking in years, but could it be this? [unit] x="5" y="17" type="Spearman" side=1 [/unit] [unit] x="7" y="17" type="" side=1 [/unit] [unit] x="7" y="14" type="Bowman" side=1 [/unit] Note the empty type tag for the unit spawned at 7,17.
