Re: Wesnoth looks great!
The only game experience that ive had that comes close to wesnoth is Dominions 5. To really play by email, average one turn a day, it took 3 months before I finished my first multiplayer game.
As for wesnoth, im gonna dig up those old bob the mighty adventure scenarios.

Re: Top 10 Reasons Why Wesnoth is the best game of all time EVER
I would be hard pressed to find another game that had all ten characteristics listed above. In fact, I can't do it. I won't deny that it's possible. But rather than merely raising the possibility, why don't you make any suggestions. So you have a particular game in mind and if so, which? I think Wes...

Re: Ageless Era - Released Version 4.1
The problem with khthon is one of diversity. If you nerf the vector then they are too weak. If not, they are too strong. I can beat anyone other faction in the game with them because I spam 10 horses for 10 gold each in the first two turns. Then I swarm whatever units my enemy has. It wouldn't matte...

Re: Ageless Era - Released Version 4.1
Yes vector now only works with level 0 and level 1 but is still really overpowered... also vectoring level 1 units with lots of xp is still about the same as vectoring a level 2 unit. As far as I can tell, the Khthon have a bunch of units with basic melee attack and they all have vector, or at least...

Re: Ageless Era - Released Version 4.1
About Vector - yes I agree it is very much overpowered... did you change it so that it can only effect level 1 and level 0 units? That would make it more fair. Because I recently played in a game where they took control of my level two hero standing on a mountain with full health and then they quick...

Re: Can't Click anything Lucid Lynx Ubuntu 10.4
Im having the same problem. Actually I can click if I hold the left mosue button and then click with the right mouse button. But it gets really tiresome to keep doing that through an entire game... which I HAVE done. The full screen solution does not help me. I still have to right click while holdin...

Re: Wesnoth 1.8.1 - Ubuntu 10.04 - Mouse & Sound problems
I had the exact same problem when I upgraded from 9.10 karmic koala ubuntu, to 10.05 lucid lynx. Actually its not that you can't click on any buttons... you can do so, but you must hold down the left click and then press right click, or vice versa, hold right click and then press left click. One of ...

Top 10 Reasons Why Wesnoth is the best game of all time EVER
1. Free- Doesn't cost a penny 2. Open-source- available on many platforms, constantly updated with user-input, able to be modified, adapted, switched around fairly easily- Ive even worked on a few campaigns myself and I know NOTHING about programming... except the little WML I've learned in the cour...

Re: "Heroes of Wesnoth" rip-off game?
Ok, well I'm all for spin-offs. But if you want to do it right I think you ought to get bob the mighty involved.

"Heroes of Wesnoth" rip-off game?
Is this some kind of rip-off of Wesnoth? Or is the site I got the link from just really really old? http://heroesofwesnothblog.wordpress.com/ I found the link through this site: http://Www.happypenguin.org It's a collection of linux games, most of which are free. But there's got to be some kind of e...

Re: Ancient Wesnoth Version?
That's awesome. I came in at 1.3 Wesnoth and I'm ussually one of the oldest player around on the server besides myth and noy. But 0.1, how cool is that. On another note, I remember a long time ago someone mentioned on the forum something about Wesnoth the board game, does anyone know if that ever ha...

Re: STORMSWEPT Special Terrain That Nerfs Flying Units' Mobility
Of course for now, you can always use cave hexes to nerf flying moevment ability, I think it takes horses and drakes 3 mp to move over a cave, while its only 1 or 2 for most other units.

Re: A radical balance proposal
If you come across any good drake vs. loy replays that feature drakes winning without a lot of luck or a dumb move from loys be sure to send them my way; I'll keep an eye peeled for them myself. If anyone cares to educate me in practice I'm up for a game from either end of this matchup (I'm hella r...

Re: Creeping Biggerism: naga
Sorry I didn't mean to complain... I just tried to articulate what a few other users said earlier in the thread about the level 2 naga compared to the level 1. I think the wesnoth artists do a fantastic job and I have no idea how to do it myself. I have downloaded the latest version of wesnoth but s...
