Bug with accents and ñ in MacOS X

Post by kilder »

In the spanish version when you have any accent or any "ñ" in the save game name, it doesn't allow you to save, and you can't write them even if you'd like. The main problem here is that many of the scenarios' names have accents and/or a "ñ"

It's a problem related only to the spanish version or it happens with all the languages?? Do windows users notice it?

Already reported to savannah by ades, i think.

I can confirm this. Can't add é or ñ to a save filename. I'll touch base with Dave over this.

I have the same problem (Debian GNU/Linux), can't add ç, ñ, áéíóú, àèìòù, äëïöü.

Same problem for me. Quite annoying, especially to attract new users.

At least on my computer (an iBook running on Panther) it is impossible to save a replay or a game when it's name contain some accentued (not sure of the spelling) caracters like : é è or à.

I'm not sure exactly what to do about this problem.

Easy solution: make it save files using the English scenario names.

Another solution, which is probably something we should move toward anyhow, is having a save file index, which contains the 'real' names of the saves, to be displayed to the user.
