Just a reminder: TGT is back on! There's one last pair remaining in the quarterfinals (Pffffff F.C. vs. Tentacles of the Deep) with 1.5 games played, so semifinals should begin soon (October 21 according to the schedule, maybe earlier).

Stay hyped! The Grand Tag: Semi-Finals are something you just can't miss!

OMG! It's already 2nd time in a row that a TGT round will finish in time, what kind of heresy is that?!
It's been an ancient custom since the very first TGT that no round should end in time and now this... I guess players and admins just don't value the traditions of ye olden days anymore... :? But have no worry! While I'm busy right now (see the educational illustration below), I promise to eventually come back (probably 2nd half of the next round) and restore the natural order of things with some innovative vice-tgt-admin decisions! :<

Now I'm slightly confused: Which TGT round will finish in time?

Pffffff F.C. and Tentacles of the Deep will drag their round 2 games into the group finals' period to make this period twice as exciting with matches of two different rounds :P

Game 2 of Pffffff F.C. vs Tentacles of the Deep will presumably continue at Monday, October 21, 1800 GMT.

Just to make this situation more clear: grzywacz of Noob Leavers said that he'll be away until the 29th of October so the late game between Tentacles and Pffffff F.C won't delay the finals more than grzywacz's absence.

You just can't win against the tradition, can you :?

I would like to congratulate team RNG on proceeding to semi-finals. Dauntless and Snowman were pleasant and polite opponents who proved far more experienced 2vs2 players than we are 8) So Yippies are proud to see the best Czech duo among the last 4 wishing them good luck against Nerds ^_^

We both thanks all wesnoth zealots - TGT crew, participants and observers - for making this tournament and its atmosphere a very special wesnoth experience...

Looking forward to see the highest quality matches and may the best (dwarf) win!

Cheers

Hi everyone,

as I haven't written as speach of thanks for the last TGT yet, this one is for both tournaments.
Actually I feel now is the better time to write one, as the Tentacles of the Deep finally - after 6 tournament rounds and more than 2 years - managed to achieve the goal that the team was founded for.
So I want to thank all of our opponents for the games, those of our opponents who contributed to the scheduling of games via pm exactly for doing that, especially those who showed some initative of their own. I also want to thank all members of the TGT crews, especially the admins Dauntless and Dunno, for the time and effort they put into this. Of couse, I also have to thank all the observers, who booed us neither for bad nor for boring play. And last but not least I thank nani for not taking the game too seriously and being the perfect teammate to achieve our goal (ok, maybe not really in the last tournament ...)
A special thanks goes to him and Pffffff F.C. for my newly gained free time.

Peace be with you

iceiceice has coded a no ally mirror era into RBY add-on. I think this was a long dream for lot of 2v2 players. Are players allowed to play with this era in TGT if both teams agree?

Surprise, surprise: the last pair has finished their game just in time!

Image

I declare Semi-finals of The Grand Tag officially open!

We have only 4 teams remaining:

Pffffff F.C - a new pair in The Grand Tag which remained inactive for a long time during the first round but ever since they've started playing games they've kept a clean record and they've even eliminated the last edition champions in a great style.

Noob Leavers - the champions of the very first edition of The Grand Tag! They haven't participated in the 3rd edition, but now they are back in action, showing the rookies how it's done!

Nerds R Us - The vice-champions of TGT 3, Nerds R Us, won't face their nemesis, Tentacles of the Deep, the team that bested them in the last edition finals. Instead they will be fighting against...

Rusty Noob Gamers - 2nd edition champions, playing 3rd TGT in a row, with Snowman replacing neki. Their fight with the Nerds will most likely turn out to be long and exciting, I just can't wait already!

edit: @tekelili: I'll take a look at code and post my answer tomorrow, along with Round 2 stats, but probably yes.

Cheers,
Dunno

Round 2 statistics are here!

Image
Stars were misaligned, thus the small delay.

This time, Loris River (played 6 times in round 1) was played only once and Xanthe Chaos took the first place with 3 plays. Surprisingly, Underworld was played twice this time, which gives it a total of 6 games (Xanthe was played 6 times as well) in both rounds. The most recruited unit was the Orcish Grunt, recruited 45 times, which isn't a big surprise. The second place belongs to Saurian Augurs with 30 recruits, that's an interesting fact.

As for the RBY era: I don't recommend it yet, but ice should post an updated version soon (I hope) and I'll make an official statement then.

That's all for now, see you tomorrow night!

Attention everyone!

Rules have been updated!
6. Rules regarding matches & forum
(...)
- results with attached replay can be posted either by the winner or the loser with results and comments hidden in a spoiler tag.
This rule has always been enforced by the TGT crew, usually via individual pms, but it's never actually made it to the official set. Now, because of several complaints and for practical reasons I've decided to finally make it official. So please make use of the spoiler tag and put your comments and images inside them.

Rushed By Yetis for 2v2 games:

It is not required nor is it enforced in any way, but if both teams agree to use it to randomise non-mirrored factions or the map, they are free to do so. Remember, when using this era, you don't have to worry about fixed ToD.

See you soon on the server!
