Which Wesnoth version do you currently use?

Post by pjr »

The purpose of this poll is to gather data about current use of stable and development versions, in order to make a comparison after Wesnoth 1.2 has been released. The poll will close around the time I estimate that 1.2 is likely to become available.

Please add comments, e.g.
"I'm using SVN because I like to hunt for bugs."
"I'm using 1.0 because I'm more interested in stability than in new features."
etc

I use an older dev version, 1.1.1, because I downloaded it when it was rleased, and then just didn't want to download the new ones. I did get 1.1.4 for a time, but it was buggy and besides all my good saves were on 1.1.1. Once 1.2 gets out, I'll get rid of all previous versions and get it.
hey.

I'm using 1.1.5 because I haven't dlded 1.1.7 yet. It either only just appeared, or I only just noticed it.

SVN because... that's just what devs do. No sense in developing old versions. :D

Current dev version (1.1.7 at the moment), because it has the latest balancing changes and I don't have the geek skills to compile SVN.

I think this poll is not really representative. No votes for 1.0.x but usually far more players on 1.0.x than on development server. Seems like this people are not around the forums.

PS: A poll how many 1.0.x players know what WML is would be interesting

Well, you can only speculate about that. Although I agree that it's likely.

Myself, I use 1.1.5.

1.1.5 because I'm lazy. I didn't vote since I plan to upgrade when I get the chance.

1.1.7+svn because... I like testing out the latest WML features, I don't have to worry about there being bugs because they'll be fixed in a day or two (although new ones will crop up), and... that's what devs do. Use SVN.

I also have the latest Debian package (I think it's 1.1.7, but it might still be on 1.1.5) for MP, if I ever want to play.
