Simple Hot Keys

Post by ancestral »

Simple Hot Keys
This add-on hopes to make a better list of hot keys for users.

I’ve always been a critic of Wesnoth’s default hot keys. Some of them just don’t make very much sense, and I always have a hard time remembering which modifier keys I need to use.

In my opinion, the most common commands need to be the easiest to type. Commands like Recruit, Recall, Status Table, even Zoom In currently require at least one modifier key. (Why? The answer is, there’s no good reason — it’s just always been that way.) Hopefully this add-on will solve just that.

I don’t use planning mode enough, but if you use planning mode, let me know how these can be improved.

How to Install
Download the add-on from the add-on server. That’s it!

New Hot Key List
Keystrokes with an asterisk (*) mean they have been replaced. Otherwise, the original keystroke will continue to work.

Do all of those command exist at the moment, such as 'Suppose Dead' and 'Show Best Enemy Move'? If so, how do you access them?

Sorry for off topic, but by my ignorance I'm proving new hotkeys are necessary.
If presented with the opportunity, I would take great pleasure in becoming a world ruler.

Those are used only for planning mode, I believe.

Oh okay. I never use planning mode, so that's why I've never encountered them. Thanks.

show best enemy moves exists it is ctrl+b. It shows you where the enemy could move if none of your units were there to block him. can be useful.

I have made a couple changes.

I have decided to revert the Status Table back to S and Statistics back to T.
Speak to Ally and Planning Mode are now alt + M and alt + P.

And good news, this should be merged into master!
