A Tale of Two Brothers +voices feedback thread

Post by max_torch »

This thread is for feedback of the add-on "A Tale of Two Brothers +voices". This add-on is an exact duplicate of AToTB except it has voiceovers for the narration and the dialogue.

Certain information we would want to know pertains to:
  • The quality of the voice acting
  • Any bugs found related to the voice acting
  • If you would like to propose an improvement to the voice acting
  • If you would like to voice act in other languages
  • If you would be interested in joining future voice acting projects
  • and any other feedback or suggestion
The thread which was used to discuss the development of AToTB+voices is here

I really hope this becomes part of mainline Wesnoth.

The quality of the recording could be improved indeed, but as a starter I think it is really good, and it makes the campaign more entertaining.

can you be more specific about what is lacking with the quality?

Oh, if I recall it sounded like the mic it was recorded with wasn't very good, just my opinion.

Maybe you should recheck the project, as there are many speakers, with many different hardware. It could be that my first version wasn't so super good, as used a headset to record it. Meanwhile most of use microphones, so the quality should have increased.

fyi from 1.14.7's release
S4: Added dialogue between Baran and Tairach when they engage in combat.
@The_Gnat
Probably you should set the AToTB voice pack as a "dependency" of AToTB+voices. I think it might also prompt the user that they should also download the dependency when they try to download the campaign.

Hi max_torch. Good idea I will do that. Also yes that new dialog should be updated at some point. It is not a rush though because our add-on is independent. :)

Wrong stuff in the sources on add-ons.wesnoth.org: in each scenario map path from original campaign should be replaced on "~addons/Two_Brothers_Voice/maps/", without it it would not load.

That is a good point. :) Thank you! Though I have played the campaign successfully so perhaps it just loads the default maps?

Yeah, it loads the default maps. Ignatus probably hasn't installed the mainline campaigns (some distros make this possible).
