Regarding the blades with holes in them... And I don't think this looks that elvish anyway... However, what you have looks very much like the Deathblade's weapon to me. ;) Maybe it could be modified into an undead sword (which would be used only for the deathblade, but...) To me, those blade designs...

We also need ambient environmental sounds; sounds of weather (snow first, probably, and then rain), sounds of wind, and also sounds of water and creatures like birds and crickets. Also cave sounds, like dripping water. We need these to nicely loop, and we need these to play well with each other - h...

Well, that was how i saw things when i first started with Wesnoth. The fact is that races kept adding themselfs and i prefered to just compose music that went well with the game without really thinking in terms of species. It would be great, unfortunally i have very little time dedicated to Wesnoth...

musical character for each race

IEvery faction should have its own music, because this creates a very strong atmosphere. I'll go you one better: every faction (or, perhaps, race) should have its own distinct musical character, which could be realized in various themes, which in turn could each be realized in more than one track e...

If you're clothes are too dark they don't hide you in the night. It's just about never completely dark and with really black clothes you're a moving hole in the night. and anyway, black is good for nightime (or varients of black) No, it isn't. Black is terrible for blending in at night. In fact, it...

I like the way he aims with just one eye in the animation, it looks cool. Aiming with one eye should be reserved for low-level units and/or for units that mostly are focused on melee but have a ranged attack "also". It's not really good technique, as you have better depth perception with ...

The filename is a bit too... obvious. If not for that, you might have had me going there on the first image, until I scrolled down to see the one with the other two units.

The druid is much improved. Here's a minor nitpick, though: is the top strand of lacing on the skirt supposed to be more blueish than the lower strands? The orc, IMO, looks better than the first draft of the druid did. Are orcs easier to draw than elves, or have your drawing skills already improved?...

However, I think that many users come to the forums specifically to give their ideas on Wesnoth. I agree with this assessment, and furthermore I figure that if there is any forum open to new users, they will post their ideas there. We can experiment with having the Ideas forum closed to new users, ...

It's the artist that makes work amazing, not the program(even though having a crappy program will hinder you a bit). Although this is true, really good software can save the artist a lot of time. Doing this stuff in MS Paint, although possible, would be horribly tedious. The key feature you want to...

It's a right-click for Linux, and I assume it would be for all non-Mac platforms... It is right-click on Windows, always (edit: unless the user's got the buttons reversed for left-handedness, in which case it could be considered left-click, but documentation always still calls that right-click). On...

The problem is this. The .cfg file's seem to be 1 long line... If somebody knows better solution to open them directly in notepad ... You know, most colorblind people just can't see a certain colour, they don't always see everything grey. So I think that if the colour is shown in the beginning of the game, they would understand what colour are their ellipses supposed to be. There are different types of colorblindness, but as far ...

I have had an idea for a while that we should have a 'flat' flag that terrain can have. The presence of this flag would indicate that all units should consider their movement cost to be 1 when calculating vision over this terrain. Terrain such as water and canyons would get this flag. This sounds g...

Re: Animation in the Docs

On the docs, in the units display, I guess it would really look cool, if the unit model over there animates randomly. How do you expect the user to read the documentation if animations keep distracting their eyes away from the words? This idea is *almost* as bad as the idea of looping animations on...
