Re: A New Order.
Thanks for your reply. I'm planning to make an add-on that takes place right after King Konrad II dies. I'm not sure if that's a good idea since add-ons like this existed. I would not worry too much about conflicts with other add-on campaigns; an enormous number of add-on campaigns have been writte...

Re: A New Order.
Just asking but is this campaign canon? I've seen this page (https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Garardine_Dynasty) and I'm not sure if it makes A New Order campaign as canon or not. Well, in general, the only things you can rely on as "canon" are the mainline campaigns (i.e., the campaigns that com...

Re: Question about Add-on relocation
The most convenient way to run the command would be to create a Windows shortcut with the command-line flag(s) that you want to use. See the example here.

Re: The game doesn't start
The occurrences of \v are in the translated strings, not the original strings, so they're not from wmlgettext. Presumably they were added when editing the file with Poedit. According to https://github.com/vslavik/poedit/issues/637 "You can get the '\v' character if you press shift and enter sim...

Re: Bad Moon Rising co-op?
I don't want to sound discouraging, but - Bad Moon Rising is a pretty large, complex campaign, and converting it to multiplayer would be quite a big project, especially for someone just learning the basics of developing add-ons. I would suggest starting with something simpler. Note that there is a W...

Re: A New Order.
It's just you actually. :D SoW is by far younger than ANO and there have never been any attempts to reconcilate the timelines of these two campaigns, or to fit ANO into the Dragon War canon. Well, the narrator in Soldier of Wesnoth mentions the Akladians, so it must have been intended to be part of...

Re: The game doesn't start
I think the issue is triggered by the
\v
escape sequences in the translations. (There are 6 of these in the file.)- June 11th, 2021, 2:57 pm

Re: The game doesn't start
Did you try your idea of zipping it? I would think a .zip file would be a lot smaller.

Note that "20200122" seems to imply that this is a very old error message.

Re: A New Order.
I think it would be more accurate to say that Soldier of Wesnoth is a prequel to A New Order.HenryY2020 wrote: ↑June 9th, 2021, 1:50 pm Is it just me or is A New Order basically the sequel to Soldier of Wesnoth?
(A New Order was released in 2005, while Soldier of Wesnoth was written later, in 2013.)

Re: Help menu doesn't work
The translation sometimes uses text='Battle for Wesnoth' and sometimes Battle for Wesnoth Perhaps a stupid question, but which of those is malformed? I'd normally assume the first one, but a search for text= returns over 12000 results in various translation...

I'm not sure if this is the issue, but in the Italian translation, the help markup looks malformed.

Re: How do the translation files actually work?
I presume too that the # [attack] and such lines are also mere comments and that the only "active" elements of .po files are the msgid and msgstr lines? Any line beginning with the # character is only a comment - it will not affect the actual translation. I was in terror that each time I ...
