Re: Stone Remembers: A Novel of Wesnoth (completed)

I've attached the most recent version of the story in the OP. Again, it's nothing major, just little tweaks here and there.

Re: Stone Remembers: A Novel of Wesnoth (completed)

I've been gone quite awhile, and wow, there's been activity in this thread! JPomazon, I've wanted to write novels since I was very young, so it's hard to pinpoint the original inspiration (in those days it was probably Redwall). I've read a wide range of fantasy and science fiction, but in terms of ...

Re: What is the appeal of a rogue-like game?

I can definitely understand what people love about roguelike games, especially ones that give you as much freedom to *decide what the goal of the game is* as Dwarf Fortress, but here's another perspective on what makes "good games." There are so many awesome games that have been made that ...

Re: Jevyan

From the mantle/upper arms upward, I'd say Sleepwalker's is far and away the best. Below that, it does get pretty jumbled and confusing. The lower arms are a bit hard to read as arms, the ribcage seems too small (and the jar, which is probably my favorite detail of the concept, is pretty much lost),...

Not that my opinion has much meaning... :)

Yeah, but:
dictionary.com wrote:1. a person or thing that goes: We sat in the lobby watching the comers and goers.
2. a person who attends frequently or habitually (usually used in combination): churchgoer; moviegoer.
3. a legless variety of lich.

Re: Jevyan

Haha, ok, never mind. At least I get to be that guy whose work inspires someone else to make the sprite that gets accepted again. Seems to be my lot. I don't suppose we're going to hear from the art team on this? I'm sure either of us would be happy to continue working on our sprites with a bit of c...

Sure it could, if it had hips and legs to match. Em3 has it--if all he has is a spine, then he can't stand on it.

Re: Jevyan

You would have to ask LordBob for any definitive information, but I didn't think Jevyan was a floating torso. I rather imagined him as a snake-like thing. IMHO, you should make the"tail" longer, maybe have it curl it like a snake's... It's certainly more snaky in the portrait--I just took...

Jevyan

The Lich Lord Jevyan, based on LordBob's awesome portrait. It's been awhile since I played BfW or sprited for it, but I'm still excited about the prospect of seeing all of the unique ancient liches in the game. Hopefully this is a good start?

Can someone please explain to me how to determine luminosity? I have never yet found a way to make any program cough up this one silly value for me. Is there a good rule of thumb for finding luminosity in HSB?

Re: LordBob's commissionned work

That troll hero is absolutely stunning. It's got to be one of my favorite pieces so far for this game.
