Also note that for 1.14 and later there's an "i" button in the lower left corner of the main menu that will let you directly open various folders, including the add-ons folder.

I'd guess that it's essentially an effect of add-ons that aren't being used not being available during a game. So it would probably work most of the time, but there are also edge cases where it wouldn't work, for example if hosts had different versions of the add-ons being used.

If you really do need a dummy unit, then yeah the solution right now would be to create your own.

I'm fairly confident that there isn't going to be an official dummy unit added unless someone can clearly explain what it would be used for that isn't also doable without a dummy unit. I guess what I'm not sure about is why you need a dummy unit for something other than what the Fog Clearer is meant to be used for. What are you using it for in Fate of a Princess?

It should be fixed in 1.16, but it looks like I forgot to backport the fix to 1.14.

Having font_scale as a more easily available option was once the case, however it was removed since there were many places where changing it would cause other UI bugs. So it's much more work than simply making the option available again.
