A button or a command line option wouldn't be too hard. Doing it via WML/lua wouldn't be hard either, but I wouldn't want to add that functionality there due to the risk of achievements accidentally getting cleared when they shouldn't be due to a bug or someone deciding to intentionally try to wipe ...

It looks like both the add-on ID and era ID are "ANLEra"?

It's not currently possible aside from manually editing the preferences file.

I don't know of anyone planning to work on it currently. Commenting there as someone who would use the feature would increase the likelihood though.

Because either the fonts need to be installed on your system or Wesnoth needs to load them, and letting Wesnoth load custom fonts hasn't been a priority.

1.16 is the current stable version for a couple more weeks. 1.17.26 is now essentially the pre-release version of 1.18, the next stable version.
