Re: Factional jack or specialist?
Sometimes I take random, sometimes I specialise. I hate Rebels, though I like their shamans and mermen, so I usually choose northerners (assasins! yay! getem nagas!), knalgans (backstam him, thief! go get them! thunderer!) or loyalists (duelist power! My horsemen will kill you!).

Re: HUGE Maps
I think there are (or used to be) GEB maps that are 200*200 in size. Fact is, I never played them, as I thought is is nearly impossible to keep up a game like that on the multiplayer server, so I kept them for a local game some time. @Araja: Brotherhood of Light was different though, as teleportatio...

Re: Nagas or Merfolks?
I could use the naga if im allowed to, not wanting a naga scenario in my campaign to be pure battle against fighters. Maybe as a sort of shaman/druid or mage with cold attacks. Thank you for posting it.

In other places though, there are Naga archers with poisoned attacks and unita with submerge, backed up by steadfast units and enormous level 4s, making it a much more interesting match up.
Nagas with submerge and steadfast? Where`s that?

Re: Nagas or Merfolks?
I've seen it in the "A New Land" era (negotiate with the nagas) and in other eras too, just i don't know what they were. I remember them as a similar unit too the lvl 3 clashers of the drakes (the ones with sword, spear and mace) with the same resictance, but well... they were water fighte...

Re: my pen and paper role playing game comments welcom
usually pen&paper RPGs use different dice. from your post, I think you only use 6-sided dice. how do you defend yourself?
otherwise, i think it sounds like Dungeons and Dragons, with more characters and less complicated gameplay.

Re: Nagas or Merfolks?
Nagas, being quick AND neutral, are usually a better faction in sea battles, to my opinion. quick withdrawing at day, and merfolk slaughter at night, make them a good faction on the water. and that extra strike does pay off, as it can mean 2 hits in open water and hit in riffs where merfolk often wo...

Re: Campaign Design How-To
Thanks a lot this was fun reading, and a great help for starting development for my campaign, The Path of the Assasin, where I started with character development, went on wih storyline, and then already started making the maps without scenario script-so I'll take it your way and see if it helps. You spoke about Elvish Citizens as a lvl 0 unit for Rebels. Have you played the "Attack from the Unknown" campaign? It has an Elvish Citizen in your recruit list. If you havn't, here's it's attack and HP: 22 HP needs 25 XP to level to fighter, hunter or archer 5 movement 4-3 blade melee 3-...
