Re: Changes to the gold carryover system in the campaigns
If you can recruit them as gold, why can't you sell them. Think of them as mercenaries. Good point that they can only be sold in your castle.Jozrael wrote: I can't understand the sense of it though. Who are you selling it to @_@?
This is a nice alternative if I am short of gold.

Re: Changes to the gold carryover system in the campaigns
Let's say, in next scenario, you face 3 opponents, with average starting gold 300 (disregard the surprises) I finish this scenario with 1000 gold. What you can do: - Limit how much I carry based on level of difficulty and opponents gold E.g. On Hard - max gold I can start with is 80% x 300 = 240 The...

Re: Defeating Vanguard (RotW) with 100 Gold on HARD
You are right. 150 gold is just too little to finish Return of Fleet within 39 turns....not with all the nasty surprises that slow down my troops' march toward enemies' castles  If I have to re-do the 4 challenges with 100 gold to start with (impossible not to drain money in Rough Landing, I th...

If I want to play TCG, I'd play MoTG.
At least the cards can be sold for real money (given the huge pool of players)
I gave up becuase all the expansions sucked my money into a blackhole that I needed to go to MoTG Anonymous.

Re: Defeating Vanguard (RotW) with 100 Gold on HARD
I finally managed to crack this scenario with 100 gold on Hard, after weeks of trying it! :D The key is apparently: peasants First strategy: used recalls with 100 gold. It failed because of the sheer numbers of enemies ganging up from many different directions Second: recall only loyal units (the 3 ...

Re: Defeating Vanguard (RotW) with 100 Gold on HARD
The minimum starting gold for any scenario should be such that it's realistically possible to win with it assuming the player has a good enough recall list and plays really well. So, any suggestions what it should be here? 200 gold on each difficulty? Or 400,300,200, or something else? Just my 2 ce...

Defeating Vanguard (RotW) with 100 Gold on HARD
Any idea if Vanguard scenario (Rise of the Westnoth) can be completed using 100 gold on HARD? I could not save money in completing the 4 challenges. I started with killing undeads (only had 100 gold, after losing all in the Rough Landing), managed to finish with 400. 2nd challenge is the Dragon, end...

Re: Scenario Review: Crossroads
(1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on? Normal/Medium (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 4 (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Maybe I didn't pay attention. I killed both leaders the first time I played it, instead of going after just the main guy...

Re: Scenario Review: HttT - Bay of Pearls
My priority is to rescue the merfolk on North (again the opposite of your strategy). That gives me 2 ranged-merfolks (very useful) and get the storm trident fast (3 ranged merfolks). That turns the sea battle very fast.
I played on Normal, by the way.

Re: Is it worth it?
Both are good
Don't underestimate the power of "slow" and healing of druid (two helpful abilities). A 20+ attack by a level 3 troll can be halved to 10. Imagine how useful that is.
Sorceress' magic ability is most useful against undead.

Re: Scenario Review: AOI 4 - Valley of Trolls
I changed the difficulty level from beginner to normal to complete this scenario. Two reasons: I have many more level 2s to fight the trolls and the troll recruited are 1 or 2 level 2s, instead of a swarming army of level 1 at the easy level. This actually makes it easier to kill the trolls, as an a...

Re: Scenario Review: AOI 4 - Valley of Trolls
I agree that this is a very tough scenario. I have not managed to clear it yet.
But I will try not to attack them at the cave. The one blocking the cave is always get whacked easily by the Troll King.
How does the Troll manage to recruit so many goons, anyway? How much gold do they have?

Re: Can't use add-ons
Yeah, I have downloaded add-ons from Main Menu and the program says add-on has been successfully installed.
I closed the game, found the add-ons saved on my userdata folder.
But when I relaunched the game, I cannot find the new campaigns that I downloaded in the Campaign menu. What should I do?
