I agree that it looks a little off. It may be because a leg in that position usually bends backwards at the last joint just above the hoof.

Re: LordBob's random stuff : Nagas and more

Since this is a mythological creature, I don't know why an interpretation from a long time ago should automatically take precedence. Even so, Jinni were also connected to storms, sand, and anthropomorphic shapes, so this should be fine.

Re: how to remove traits

Ravana is saying you shouldn't use a trait at all. I agree because having it display in the trait line of the unit would be confusing for the player. Usually this kind of thing is displayed with [unit_overlay] , which puts a little icon above the unit. Another reason not to use traits is that they a...

I know you think about this stuff so...Is that high-level ringcaster intentionally trying to look like a horse? If so, why did he go with that motif?

Re: Help on creating an array of stored units.

Why do this when you can store the array in the ship itself as a unit variable? Yeah, that's one of the improvements I was thinking of. However, keeping them separate seemed less complex, and it would make the output of :inspect easier to parse. (This is based on my experience teaching WML.) It wou...

Re: Help on creating an array of stored units.

I haven't read this whole thread, but it looks like you might be starting over anyway, so this could be relevant. If I were doing this, most of it would be done in one LONG event. This is what I would do. Make a unit_placed event for when a transport ship is added to the map in any way. It needs to ...

Re: can't recruit costum unit

It sounds like the unit is not being loaded properly. You probably have a mistake in the code that loads your unit or in the unit file itself. We can't help you find it unless we can see it though. You should upload it like Pentarctagon said.

Holy spikes, Batman! I wasn't sure how you were going to put armor on this guy, but the frame was a great idea.

Re: How do I learn the proper tags and keys to use?

WML Guide is a campaign on the add-on server. It's my attempt to explain common WML. There are lots of remarks in the code to explain what the various tags do--hopefully at the basic level you are looking for. The first scenario is simple and may be below your level, but the second scenario has some...

Re: LordBob's random stuff : Nagas and more

I can see how this could conflict wih existing team colors in different scenarios, so maybe something more neutral will help. I would keep them. The yellow and blue look great, and the guild idea is a good one. You could put them on the blue or yellow team with no problem, and they would make disti...

Re: 3 questions: to_location; chaining events ; store_unit

[have_unit] is just a standard unit filter when it's used inside an [if] tag. (So it works the same as [filter] in an event.)

Re: "Alert" unit immune to backstab

Each apply_to value has its own set of keys and tags. If you use apply_to=attack , you then have access to remove_specials. (The indentation on the wiki showing this relationship may be a little too subtle, but it's there.) So, to remove the special, it's [effect] apply_to=attack remove_specials=bac...

Re: 3 questions: to_location; chaining events ; store_unit

If that's right, can I get an example from someone? Thanks. You explained it right, so I assume you mean an example of how to create a location id. They are created in the map editor. Choose the "Starting Positions Tool" (the little flag). You will get a list of sides with some buttons at...

Re: filtering by status

Thank you, Beetlenaut, your code worked. Good! It's always dangerous to offer untested code. Computers are dumb, so you have to be exact. This is something you have to remember: You can only use tags where the wiki tells you they are supported. The section on the [modify_unit] tag does not list [re...
