Aaah. Yes... it may be good to emphasize that there should be other units available as well. I think a couple other people had the same confusion. Perhaps when you show the list at startup you can show everything we can recruit but then bold or color the units which won't be available after the firs...

Ah. Reading the introduction gave me the impression that each side is only supposed to have a few units recruitable (and the mages just the two: mage and heavy infantryman). However, do these screenshots look right to you? http://bahj.com/flotsam/unnatural-winter-ss-1.png http://bahj.com/flotsam/unn...

Hello, all. I'm also having the problem with Unnatural Winter in that the recruitment list on all of my sides is totally off. Both human sides can summon any loyalist unit they please, the drakes can summon drakes and loyalists, and the elves could summon mage, archer, fighter, scout, and shaman. Th...

I thought I might chip in here. We're working on an era which features an extension to the abilities and units and we already successfully implemented said effect using the following WML: #define ABILITY_FORTIFY [resistance] id=steadfast add=10 max_value=90 apply_to=blade,pierce,impact,fire,cold,hol...

I can compile Wesnoth 1.1.13 myself. The only difficulty at hand is that I really do like the package management system and the fact that I don't have to cope with things like compilation, getting all of the development libraries, and so forth. Unfortunately, Debian's package management can get a bi...

Debian Package for 1.1.13

Hello, all. Does anyone know whether or not there's going to be a Debian package for 1.1.13? Usually, the Debian package comes out the same day or the next as the release, but as of today it's been eleven days and there's still no sign of the package yet in the repos. Is Isaac Clerencia part of the ...

Re: Halo Bugs

1) When the player who owns the golden gryphon gets a turn during the day, the halo's opacity remains unaffected, causing it to distort the original image. I don't really understand what you're describing here. Why would/should the time of day change a halo's opacity? What do you mean with "ca...

Halo Bugs

I've just tried to create a new unit ("golden gryphon") and added a halo outlining its body. Obviously, the gryphon is not symmetrical. Also, this unit has a simple ability we added: daystalk (guess what that does). The following problems occurred: 1) When the player who owns the golden gr...

Thank you, Ken Oh, for the link... I'm not sure why I didn't think to search for this topic before I posted. Sorry about that. :-P turin: Perhaps I'm getting a bit carried away; I'm really pleased with the effect that the KWrite syntax highlighting definition has had on our development efforts. Howe...

Thanks for the responses; keep 'em coming. :) I'll summarize the possibilities of syntax highlighting in each of the editors mentioned. Regardless, however, I appreciate the information; it gives me an idea as to the tools currently being used by the BfW community. ;) Emacs: I'll have to look into t...

WML Syntax Highlighting for Gedit

Attached is a syntax highlighting definition for Gedit (and any other app which uses GtkSourceView for syntax highlighting). The contents of the tarball should be placed in the ~/.gnome2/gtksourceview-1.0/language-specs/ directory to function properly. Sadly, this syntax highlighting definition lack...

Hehe, behaves quite differently with some combinations of events and direct actions. Is that the Abilities Era you're talking about? No, actually. A friend of mine and I have been Wesnoth fans for some time now and just the other week or so got to talking about how it would be neat to have a unit t...

Which WML Editors Do You Use?

As may have been established from my recent posts, I use KWrite to edit my WML files. My desktop runs Linux and I prefer KDE for my desktop environment. However, it's entirely likely that there are a number of people out there with different preferences and I was curious as to exactly which editors ...

Setting up default indenter for file types in KWrite

I found this little article which may be helpful to people who want KWrite to automatically use indentation on WML files as I do. Here's a summary of the steps involved. 1. Choose Settings -> Configure Editor 2. Click "Filetypes" on the left-hand menu 3. Press the "new" button in...
