Re: Better/smarter support for display resolutions?

You can set the window dimensions using command the command line parameter --resolution and start wesnoth via shell script(s), shell alias(es) or whatever means windows provides. Thanks, that's a good idea as an interim solution. Slightly clumsy in practice, though, and might be a little bit tricky...

Better/smarter support for display resolutions?

Here's a small exercise: Try starting Wesnoth up for the first time on a 1024x600 netbook. The app starts in windowed mode and, my my, the window is gigantic. The only solution is to go to the preferences, but the preferences button is somewhere quite off the screen. And as it happens, the netbook r...

Re: Does Wesnoth have official box art?

Why don't try yourself, when you got all the ideas together already? ;) Because I assume most Wesnoth graphics contributors have more graphical design skills than I will ever have. :) My drawings are pretty horrible and while I am an optimist and I believe it's possible I could get something passab...

Does Wesnoth have official box art?

Just a question - does Wesnoth have official box art? I remember reading something vague about people making their own DVD covers, but is there any officially recommended art available? If not, wouldn't it be high time to get that? I'm asking this because there are sites like MobyGames and PlayFire ...

Re: Li'sar says: Edit Now!

Hah, you should have just used a close-up of Asheviere's chest from here . Welllll - the video games wikiproject is quite active, so we're probably not that desperate yet. But there still could be a need for more manpower in the future. Oh yes, I can see the ads now. "Clear the cleanup backlog...

Li'sar says: Edit Now!

I hope no one minds a little bit silly use of the Wesnoth artwork in an effort to promote good cause and, at the same time, poke a little bit of fun at recent overly widespread web game marketing. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b7/Qxz-ad192.png ( Image details page ) When I saw the, *ahe...

(1) Easy, on some 1.1.x version (didn't finish) and 1.2.6. (2) Uh... 3-4? Not very challenging. (3) The objectives were clear once I figured them out, but I have to say that the first time I played this, I thought it was buggy when the scenario didn't end with the death of the first commander. =) Do...

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? Easy, 1.2.6 (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) Uh... for someone who's played the game for a while, I'd say 6. (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Very clear. (4) How clear and interesting...

Sorry, but sometimes we need a little bit of a negative feedback. I'm not a big fan of the 1.1+ tutorial; I just played through it for the first time a few days ago out of curiosity and found it much harder and more frustrating than the 1.0 tutorial. Two issues that I have to bring up: 1) The second...

Is it possible to do multiple storylines within one campaign in Wesnoth, i.e. separate scenarios that story-wise happen at the same time in different places? Technically that would obviously mean that the hero units are different, and you don't get to recall the units that are, as we speak, fighting...

A proposal: Proper tags

I hope this has not been discussed here earlier. Anyway, quite a while ago, I filed a bug report with a plea to add proper tags to the music files. It was acted upon and while I haven't checked, 1.0 probably had better tags than the previous releases. Yet, there's two issues with this: 1) The tags w...

This is the Golgotha soundtrack - one of the earliest game soundtracks I've seen that was in MP3 format. :) The files are also in WorldForge . And the tracks are pretty good. Not all is appropriate for fantasy games, though some are, for example "Splash_Screen_Opus.mp3", "Finland.mp3&...
