Windows: 1.1.2 preventing the attack dialog/gryphon crash

Post by Sapient »

If you want to prevent the attack dialog crash in 1.1.2 also knkown as the "Gryphon" crash, you need to replace some of the attack icons in your wesnoth/images/attacks folder.

There is a known bug in the Windows version related to processing Photoshop ICC chunks. I'm not sure if these two are the only ones you need to replace. Credit to Xan for discovering this.

All the icons that were known to be affected were:
claws-animal.png
fist-skeletal.png
lightning.png
icon-multiplayer.png
elven-village-snow.png
elven-village-snow2.png

and some portraits in UtBS.

Ok then, here is a crash patch with all the known affected images Xan listed other than the UtBS campaign portraits. Unzip this to the directory where you installed Wesnoth 1.1.2 and allow it to overwrite the old images.

edit: blank directory "data_" removed from the zipfile

It appears that the zip has a few empty directories:

data_\campaigns\Under_the_Burning_Suns\images\portraits

but no files. Am I missing something?

Yeah, I was messing with the zip file trying to see if it could hold the portraits. They take up too much space for me to attach here. Although, I could split it into multiple attachments if you wish?
