The above command assumes that the files for the old version (0.9.4) and the xdelta-file are in the same directory.apieceofcake wrote:hmm its says the wesnoth-windows-0.9.4.exe not foundHaJo wrote: xdelta patch 094to095-windows.xdelta wesnoth-windows-0.9.4.exe

Otherwise, you would need to give the complete path of these files...
Thanks!
Thanks for this!HaJo wrote:xdelta patch 094to095-windows.xdelta wesnoth-windows-0.9.4.exe : create new wesnoth-version from patchfile and the old version.
I was trying to figure out how to update to 0.9.6, and I really just needed a concrete example of the process to point me in the right direction. I think information like this should be added to the FAQ!
Re: Thanks!
Agreed. I think some explanations on this matter (even if very short) would be useful.novafsck wrote: I was trying to figure out how to update to 0.9.6, and I really just needed a concrete example of the process to point me in the right direction. Okay, there are a bunch of threads and tutorials on getting the game to work. If you want it, most systems have a binary package already available for them if you click download at the top of the webpage. You really should provide more information if you want some help. Also, if you are the same person, you should use the same name, at least within the same thread (even if you are a guest).

Re: xdelta
On the subject of xdelta....
Where is the xdelta binary located? Is it somewhere in the source tree? I could not find it under the "utilities" folder, and it does not look like it comes with the windows binary release...
(I am stuck using my mobile Sprint 3G internet with the stupid 5 gigabyte monthly cap... using xdeltas could greatly reduce my bandwidth when updating my 1.8-beta series release files...)
Thank you,

UPDATE 12/26/2009 - Hmm, how did I miss this on google before? http://xdelta.org/ I imagine this is what I was looking for...
