[solved] Wiki: Is uploading images disabled?

I'm toying around with writing a Wesnoth lua GUI tutorial. It'd be nice to have images as examples to refer to. I've followed https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Help:Editing to images, managing files, the sidebar, changed my theme to MonoBook so the sidebar actually shows up, but I'm just not finding the magic upload link.

Is this intentionally disabled? If so, any workaround/exceptions available?

It's not enabled by default, there's a specific role you need to be given to be able to upload images.

Do you know how I can request that?

I could also upload them to a hosting site and request an admin(?) upload them to the wiki, but I'd rather not wait and do them all in one batch or keep making repeated requests.

Huh, I'm getting that same error too.

It looks like it's a permissions error somehow, and unfortunately the most recent images were uploaded in 2021 so it's not really clear when it started happening.
