Wesnoth 0.8.11

Post by isaac »

We're proud to present Yet Another Bugfix Release :)

Lots of bugs have been fixed in this release. One of them caused units to walk on the water and prevented the AI from being correctly configured in campaigns under certain locales. Other one allowed AI units to be merged, making them disappear.

Some units have been balanced, and there are new animations for mages.

As usual we have got translation updates and also a new translation, British English.

You can check details at http://changelog.wesnoth.org.

Downloads:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... z?download
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... 5?download

Wesnoth-lite should be fully working Wesnoth, it just lacks music and story
images (making it smaller and therefore faster to download):

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... z?download
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... 5?download

As a fallback you can also get files from
http://files.wesnoth.org/ - you should first try to get files
through SourceForge to help us save bandwidth.

server.wesnoth.org will soon be running 0.8.11 and can be used for multiplayer games.

Instructions for bug reporting can be found -
http://wesnoth.slack.it/?ReportingBugs

Debian GNU/Linux, Mandrakelinux, Mac OS X, BeOS and Microsoft Windows
packagers have been informed.

I started my HttT campaign under 0.8.9, and I am still not done!
And now I have some units in there that aren't even in use, anymore.
So, do I get to be the first one to complain that it isn't available for (insert my OS\distro here) yet?

Well, Sithrandel usually can't do it until Monday.

oh, COME ON. Before you post in a thread, at least read the first couple posts.

The second one is the one to which I refer.

Old mermen and nagas are still in Great War multiplayer

Post by Cluehunter »

The changelog says that the old mermen and nagas have all been obsoleted, but they are still in the great war multiplayer era.

All the new level 1 mermen and nagas sould probably be added to Great War.

Fun, eh? I guess you won't mind, then, when I complain about how incredibly lazy & foolish it is to spell "you" with one letter.

You've already asked this question, and Isaac answered it.

In fact, you even responded to Isaac, which seems to indicate that you heard him:

Answering the same question from different users can be annoying, but answering the same question from the same user over and over again... let's just say it gets old.

The Mac OS X release of 0.8.11 will take place when Sithrandel has a chance to compile it, most likely today or in the next couple of days. Given that this is only a bug-fix issue, you're really not missing much right now save for the ability to play multiplayer.

And please, in future - just wait. Posting about the Mac version will not make it materialise any faster.
