This is because of the force of forward motion.
However if we apply that it wouldn't be bent so I dunno.

It looks beautifully ugly imho.

It's been a while...

Today I had a couple of spare minutes and a sudden urge to draw mud:

Whew muddy.
This girl, this boy, They were part of the land. What happens to the places we used to tend?
She's a hard one to trust, And he's a roving ghost. Will you come back, will you come back, Or leave me alone?

This makes me want to rework the sprite into something that actually looks good...

Texture, lighting, beautiful. I like the stringy bits, they work quite well. The only thing II don't like are the eyes but a lot of people would probably disagree. :D
My spritework can be seen here.

It looks nice, but it does not look like the unit I was imagining for the mudcrawler, more like a "mud golem". (The concept of the mudcrawler could be changed, though.)

Good to hear from you again. There might something weird about his arm/appendage, but then mudcrawlers aren't supposed to be humanoids and this disturbing feeling of something inuman might be just what we're looking for.

Our mudcrawlers hardly crawl at the moment (this one at least looks like it could drag it's body along whilst the current sprite looks like it'd move more like a slug than a crawler).

What I would worry about slightly is this guy being mistaken for a Troll of some sort, especially with the red eyes.

Heh, Well the leveled up form of mud-crawler isn't all that great...
Mud-Crawler > Giant Mud-crawler *gasp*
Maybe you could change it to like a Mud-Walker... :P

Haha...A troll that wandered to the surface under scorching heat
Now you mention it though, there is an air of family.

I just have to try making a sprite for this guy. :P Awesome portrait, kitty.
As a side note, perhaps a design similar to kitty's portrait would work better for the mudcrawlers than the current one (should that unit line ever get revised)... it's much more intimidating, imo.

Aww, dammit.

I might do some fiddling to make it look meaner and to better match eleazar's new dirt, but otherwise that looks cool. I'll make a mud glob up and get them animated at some point.

Probably it will need shrinking a good deal, since it's only a l1 unit.

Kitty: can you provide a help-sized version for committing please?
