Sceptre of Life

Post by opensourcejunkie »

---> link to the campaign development thread

Hello, and thank you for playing Sceptre of Life. Moreover, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback to help improve this campaign. When leaving your feedback, please use the following questions to structure your comments:

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the campaign on?

(2) How difficult did you find the campaign? (1-10)

(3) How clear did you find the campaign objectives?

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline?

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the campaign?

(6) How fun do you think the campagin is? (1-10)

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the campaign to make it more fun?

(8) Are there any grammatical mistakes in the dialogue/story text?

(9) Do you have any additional comments?

Note: If you've found the campaign's portraits, sprites or other artwork lacking, understand that since my skills as an artist are limited, so will the artwork be limited. If you are interested in making artwork for Sceptre of Life, please PM me with the details - I can use all the help I can get! :-).

Note: This thread pertains only to the 1.5/1.6 version of the campaign; the 1.4 version is no longer supported.

Thanks again for your feedback!

what if the Bible's claims about Christ depicted accurate, verifiable history? given some research, you might be surprised at the evidence...

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the campaign on?
Easy, I think.

(2) How difficult did you find the campaign? (1-10)
9: Due to not knowing how many high level units had to be preserved. Also due to a glitch I will discuss later.

(3) How clear did you find the campaign objectives?
Perfectly fine.

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline?
I thought the dialog was witty and creative.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the campaign?

(6) How fun do you think the campagin is? (1-10)
NA: At this point I can't finish it.

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the campaign to make it more fun?
It seems fine at this point from a plot and character perspective.

(8) Are there any grammatical mistakes in the dialogue/story text?
Not that I noticed.

(9) Do you have any additional comments?
2 Problems:
The worst is a crash: "Assertion failed! Program...ogram Files/Battle for Wesnoth 1.6/wesnoth.exe
File: src/unit_display.cpp
Line: 128
Expression: !path.empty()"
Retrying has not helped. As a result I cannot progress past the point in Satisfactory Victory where the two forces separate at the bank of the river.

The mission previous to this I had a great deal of difficulty with because it stayed nighttime for WAY too many turns. When all I can recruit are lawful units and all the enemy has are chaotic ones, this is rather frustrating. I did eventually beat it, but it took me many, many a reload.

If it was developed on Windows the problem could be inconsistent capitalization of filenames, Which IIRC isn't a problem on Windows, but is on most *nix.
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.
