I guess it would have to be, to stop the game generating the unit with the trait "loyal". Seems a little strange though, a mage that makes money. It could be very useful. Just have him sit by the keep all scenario. :)

Actually, I think of it as an interesting player temptation: do you go with the sure income which takes up a slot and can't be used freely early in the game in case you make a loss? Or do you buy or recall more useful units? If you price a L(-1) $mage at 20 gold, it would take 20 turns to recoup your investment. To get him to level down to L(-2) would be tough as well, because if he dies before turn 20, you actually make a loss. Then again, if he levels down, he is worth 2 gold per turn after that...

I don't like this idea. It violates the entire principle of income and upkeep.

I like the idea of the alchemist, and him making money. I also liked the idea of him firing gold coins as an attack. Maybe he has a pretty good attack, but it costs a gold for every "shot"
