Not the whole thing, just the wings...

I'm looking forward to colouring the fighter. It's annoying that I'll probably have to wait about a month before i can >.<

Have a drink on me.

Here's the first version of the burner, if it's acceptable even with this pose then I probably won't bother to make a second one.

I'd say it is, personally. And if not, definitely keep the head, that looks great. Especially the fire-themed engraving on the armour.

After that, Gladiator, Slasher, Glider, then i think we're getting beyond the ones the newer sprites are available for. the higher level burner line got a little bit, but they aren't quite finished. And the flare/flameheart aren't started yet.

So someone's still actually making the sprites? I thought the whole project had halted completely.

I'll see if I've got enough enthusiasm left to keep up the manic drawing-pace and post stuff as I create it. I'll add these guys to the first post, just tell me if you need a big-resolution version of any of them (The originals are around 2000x2000 and 3000x2500, so there's a lot to choose from). I'll probably try to colour one or more of these while you're away to see if I've still got too much to learn about shading.

The bigger the better, tbh. I usually work around 1200 to 1500 square, but i'm happy to go bigger.

I say yet because if enough gets done to animate the current sprites (which is on me at present), neo might come back to finish off. If not, I'd hope that once I've done all the animations, I'd have enough familiarity with the look of the sprites to make some base frames for the higher levels.

Wow, I hadn't given a look at those drakes yet. I really like the design. The only drawback I might notice is scale : due to fitting the wings in the portrait, he hardly looks biger than, say, the augur and skirmisher. Which really is a shame since it doesn't do justice to how darn BIG the sprite looks

Unfortunately I'm not even sure what I should suggest. Cropping several sides so that the portrait frame looks too tight for him might work - if it were allowed, which it isn't. Else, maybe add some kind of detail (trophy ?) that makes it easy for the mind to scale te beast.

Alternatively, we can use that feature of the new GUI where things can go off the top... for the WINGS. That's gonna make the buggers look big...

Hey, the buggers ARE big. In fact the buggers are BIG. The info on them says that the typical drake weighs as much as a man and a horse put together. That makes them at LEAST ogre/troll size.

(Aw crap. Hit quote instead of edit. Might as well put some comments here.)

That burner is awesome as is, really love the intensity of his gaze. I'd say it doesn't need any change.

I believe that's what they're talking about, Neoskel...
Also, that's what the "back" button is for ;)

I'm with thespaceinvader on that head and armor--Those are badass.
I do kind of feel like the straight-on pose is still a little boring, though... Up to you folks, obviously.

What happened is i tried to edit the first one, but i hit submit before i realized that it was quoting instead. Then i edited the second one.

I really hope these portraits get Neoriceisgood to make the rest of the drake baseframes at least, they were looking really good.

A very quick fiddle of the glider, just to see if the pose is okay or not.

nice start for the glider! i really like all those spikes around the head! but i'm not so fond of the muzzle design, it seems like an overly simple shape. you said you based it on a cow's - look at some cow mouths and observe their complex form!

i look forward to see your next ones!

As I said, I posted it to see if the pose is okay, so I tried not to put too much detail in other stuff. I take that as a 'yes' for my original question though, so I'll just start working on the rest of the drake :P

EDIT: done.
