Leadership Sprite/Animation
Would it be possible to have a different sprite (or possibly an animation) to show that a unit is currently using his leadership on others? For example, the Elf Captain or Marshal could take his banner into his hands. Is this feasible or even a good idea?

Re: Leadership Sprite/Animation
Yes, it is, the Grand Marshal uses his sword, as does other units. This is already in the game, but if you want more graphics in game, make them and post them.

Oh, I didn't realize this was already the case. Do the elves also raise their swords?

To my knowledge, they do. I only know they do because i noticed it from 1.0.2 to 1.1...Query wrote:Do the elves also raise their swords?

I just dug through the files, and it seems that the Elf Captain and the Elf Marshal do have a "leading" sprite, but the Lord and High Lord don't.
Edit: Here's a mock-up of what the lord should probably be doing (following the convention of other leading units)

I think those are 'Dummy Units', not really made for use. Its more in the middle of the Dummy Unit and a regular unit, to me.Query wrote:I just dug through the files, and it seems that the Elf Captain and the Elf Marshal do have a "leading" sprite, but the Lord and High Lord don't.

Re: Leadership Sprite/Animation
What exactly do you mean by "dummy" units? Lords are often seen in campaigns, where most newbies (those who would benefit from such sprites) usually start off.
Oh, and what do you think of the mock-up above?

Re: Leadership Sprite/Animation
I think your mock-up is quite sufficient. If you have the skill to be doing these, why not do them for the units you notice lack them?
Re: Leadership Sprite/Animation
I just used the rotate tool on the GIMP, and probably lost some quality in the process. I'll see what the higher ups think of it.
Re: Leadership Sprite/Animation
The lord line doesn't have leadership, which is why it does not have a leading frame.
Re: Leadership Sprite/Animation
Are you sure? I'm pretty certain it does.
Re: Leadership Sprite/Animation
This may differ depending on the campaign: The mainline campaigns that use it (AOI and HttT spring to mind) do not have leadership. You may be playing another campaign we're not thinking of where the unit has been modified.
Re: Leadership Sprite/Animation
Fair enough. I must have misread Erlornas's abilities in AOI.
