It's shorter than the previous version but only something like 1 pixel.
That looks good enough for now; turn your attention to the level-2 "Bone Shooter", so that you can make an image for it that nicely interpolates between the two. If there are any additional size tweaks that need to be made to the soul shooter, I can take care of them.

Usually, when revising a series of units that are related to each other, I suggest making the base frames first, because you can then compare all the units to one another, and tweak them to be a good, flowing series of units, rather than having abrupt changes between them.

I have no problem with that; it adds character, and its bow does hit very hard.

I like Eidolon a lot.

Yeah, so do I. It seems a bit too good-natured to tag on this particular unit, though (or really, lacking in dreadful connotations, since those few undead in mythology who don't assault the living end up being tagged as "good" by default).

After the core of this TC project is done, I wouldn't mind adding in a few "stock monsters" for campaign writers. I think eidolon would be an excellent name for a wizard's magical servant; not quite a familiar. Francisco actually did some graphics for those...

Bone Shooter proved out one tough bugger.
I tried to give it a new, rangerish-archer concept (as in more cloth less metal, nothing big) but I'm unsure. :?

Maybe he needs bigger boots too...

Ooh, me likes! That's got a lot more character than the current one, IMO.

Looks great. One minor thing I'd change is the angle of the arrow in his hand. I'd rather have it pointing up and to the left instead of down as it is now, IMO it makes the unit look more balanced in a way.

Also, I've recently noticed that I'm rather bothered by the angle all the archer units hold their bow in (vertical) since it looks so unnatural, but that's a more general issue.

EDIT: Ok, actually not nearly all of them, just a few.

One thing is, with that amount of clothes he's starting to look like a zombie rather than a skeleton (if you look at him and try tro guess what kind of creature it is).

Looks good, Eternal. It could use some minor tweaks, as you saw, but it's a winner.

Hmm... I did little this and that and it seems fine.
But is there still something? :|

Here's what they'd look like with quivers, and with an alternate (more skeletal) ribcage for the bone shooter:

What do you think, eternal?

(Methinks I've made a slight change for the worse, in that his(?) hood now looks like a bonnet.)

The bone shooter looks great now. Thanks! :D

I think I'll tweak the soul shooter a bit though. Maybe I'll add a little bit of armor for him too to make the change not seem tough/armoured -> just plain clothes... I'll make two versions.

It'll take a few minutes...

... Eh. It took more than an hour then. Damn last minute tweaks. :)
I think there's a little bit of perfectionist in me.

That aside: Take a look at these two. Which one is better?
I hope the cloak isn't too much. It just adds so much intimidation so easily...

Personally, I prefered him without the cloak.

I'm torn; I think the cloak was a good idea, but not this particular cloak.

I prefer #1 without the armor. A cloak might not be a bad idea, but that cloak is too straight and hangs at an angle. Gravity would pull it down, and even wind wouldn't really give it that shape.

also jetryl's sould shooter looks like it gained an extra pant-leg!
