Wesnoth 1.2

Post by ivanovic »

Wow, finally 1.2 is ready. Thanks for your patience and now enjoy the brand new release. This time we do have real release notes that are even translated into many different languages. A lot of infos is listed in there, just have a look at it.
Though we also have some bad news: The Windows binaries for 1.2 are not ready yet. Windows users should be a little more patient, we will update the site, once it is ready. Until that time you can use the last rc, 1.1.14, it is compatible with 1.2 so you can at least play on the mp-server.

Here are some links to the downloads:

Sources:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... z?download
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... 5?download

MacOSX:
Full version, with editor (72Mb)
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wesnot ... SX_1.2.dmg
Lite version, withou large arts and music (43Mb)
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wesnot ... 2_lite.dmg

There is no XDelta yet.
Check http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7034 for info on using xdelta.

As a fallback you can also get files from http://files.wesnoth.org/ - you should first try to get files through SourceForge to help us save bandwidth.

devsrv.wesnoth.org:14999 is ready to be used for multiplayer games .

Instructions for bug reporting can be found at http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/ReportingBugs

Debian, SUSE and Windows packagers have already been notified, the binaries might be ready soon.

Now feel free to discuss and celebrate this release in here. An of course:
Enjoy!

Update
Thanks to Yogi we now got Windows binaries:

Now we can really get to work— making it obsolete.

Merry Christmas!
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

Yogi, you have put the binaries in:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... e?download
the Wesnoth home page points to:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... e?download
and Release Notes points to
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wesnot ... e?download

the point is, the links on homepage and release notes do not work.

I did update the website to have the correct links. Btw, there is no real difference if you use downloasd.sourceforge.net or prdownloads.sourceforge.net, both work the same way.
