Wesnoth 1.1.7

Post by isaac »

Wesnoth 1.1.7 is out!

1.1.6 was skipped because it had a couple of nasty bugs.

This release marks a "hard" string freeze, meaning that no changes at all are allowed in strings, so translators can start working hard to get complete translations for 1.2.

Your bug reports are more needed than ever, so be sure to carefully report the bugs you find.

1.1.7 has some new attack icons, a new tropical forest, revised multiplayer maps, some balancing changes, slightly improved campaigns and translation updates.

You can check details at the changelog.

Downloads:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... 5?download

As a fallback you can also get files from
http://files.wesnoth.org/ - you should first try to get files
through SourceForge to help us save bandwidth.

devsrv.wesnoth.org:14999 will soon be ready to be used for multiplayer games

Instructions for bug reporting can be found at
http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/ReportingBugs

The packages will be available soon.

I was wondering why I saw someone say 1.1.6 was out but I never saw it on the homepage...

The homepage (and the download-wiki-page: http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/Download#Development)should probably be updated...

i've tried to build it with .net 2002 which was a pain in the ar.. the project file from wintifax (from the wiki) is outdated (0.9.x) and in a too "new" (.net 2003) format while the file from dave is in a too "old" format and the great ms tool is unable to convert it, i get only a message that the file is corrupt, so i had to "downgrade" the 2003 file to 2002. just to find out that there are files missing. but after compareing the 2 files (wintifax and dave) i found the reason. sadly there wasn't a tool to convert daves file to 2002 so i had to make a "working" project file by feet... finally i was able to click on build, but it ended with several error messages... since i am not a coder, as you maybe guess already, i have no idea how to work around nor how to fix them.

any idea?

Kavlax:
No, it isn't easier on Windows/MingW32 outside of DevC++ (no assured make process) than either MSVC6 or DevC++/MingW32 (build process largely thrashed out).

flava_clown:
Do your tools allow for importing either:
* a DevC++ makefile (one is in the Wesnoth distribution)
* a GNU makefile? (I have a working one from yesterday-SVN, but the prebuilt SDL-1.2.10 distribution for MingW32 from libsdl.org doesn't have an accessible WinMain in its libSDLmain.a. The prebuilt SDL-1.2.10 distribution for MSVC does have an accessible WinMain in its SDLmain.lib, but it won't link correctly under MingW32.)

honestly your answer looks french to me ;) ... but i will see if i can import something. i was looking for a tool that can convert vc6 to vc7 but found nothing, so far... normaly vc7 should be able to do it, but gives me only error messages. while the search i found some other people with such problems. and i guess that i had not every necessary piece of software linked...

anyway thanx for your replay. if all fails then i'll try the how to from you and uninstall vc7 ;)

1.1.7 is out and you still haven't provided a windows build?
