Wesnoth 1.1.2

Post by isaac »

Wesnoth 1.1.2 is out!

This version features two new campaigns added to mainline, The South Guard and Under the Burning Suns, while the less polished ones have been removed. In addition, the tutorial has also been replaced by a nicer one. The rest of campaigns have got some improvements too.

In the graphics camp, there are new awesome attack icons and some other minor additions.

The music system has been completely revamped to make it more flexible and new music has been added, trying to make the whole music experience in Wesnoth far more interesting.

This version also includes lots of rebalancing and the usual translation updates.

You can check details at the changelog.

There is no xdelta this time because the difference between the files is really huge.

As a fallback you can also get files from
http://files.wesnoth.org/ - you should first try to get files
through SourceForge to help us save bandwidth.

devsrv.wesnoth.org:14999 will soon be ready to be used for multiplayer games

Instructions for bug reporting can be found -
http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/ReportingBugs

Debian packages are ready and will be available at mirrors tomorrow.

MacOS X, Windows and BeOS packagers have also been informed.

Here is a release for Mac OS X. It's compiled as an universal binary, so it should work on the good old PPC based Mac and the new Intel based. As I only have a PPC model for testing, could someone tell me if it works or not with Intel Mac ?

The full version, including the map editor (79 Mb)
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... g?download

The light version, without music and large images (50 Mb)
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... g?download

It probably don't work with Mac OS X 10.2 or lower.

The audio problem is probably this bug
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

not sure why debian people cant build the package from source. seriously, wesnoth is one of the easiest packages to build.

snag the source. download the sdl_dev packages the game whines for when you run ./configure. then make you way to wesnoth awesomeness.

I suppose the Windows version has been released now, correct? Because I can no longer connect to a server with 1.1.1 (it says I now need 1.1.2)

Ah, how sad.

<Slightly off topic>
Exactly how do they compile the source code into a specific program(s) for others to use?
