For nagas, it might be nice if they could learn a poisonous bite attack at max level.

How would ZOC range of 2 work? Now, any move into ZOC sets moves = 0. So no unit could approach the big-ZOC unit except by stepping into its outer ZOC and then closing on the next turn; and that assumes it didn't take a step backward on its own turn.

Or did you have something else in mind?

I think you misunderstood my ZoC proposal. The ZoC range would only extend to the outer circle where it is a certain terrain type. For example, if you are two hexes away from a "Grasping Roots" Ancient Wose you can keep walking for any terrain except unless you have landed on forest.

maybe for 2 hex ZOC you could have the outer ring slow the unit down instead of stopping it

I think the old rejected trait idea of enhanced rest healing could make a decent AMLA bonus.

what about a simple melee +1 or range +1
or gaining marksman

The only current AMLA (other than necroheal) is +3hp. :roll: :roll:

How about letting the player swap out traits with an AMLA adjustment? That is, trade strong for quick or resilient etc.

Although some means of taking "intelligent" into account would probably be necessary (i.e why would one ever -not- swap it out if AMLA adjustments are relatively minor).

Two square Zoc can be negated with ease, just surround the unit, so that it has nowhere to retreat to. And besides, If I understand correctly, this is not meant for MP, but for campaigns only. Applying all this would certanly unbalance MP.

How about hill-ambush (i.e., hides in hills, like a unit with ambush does in forest). With its being an orc, that would make more sense to me.
