pixel drawing is damn hard

Post by Attila »

I decided to learn how to pixel draw, by drawing everything I possibly can. A little ways back it was proposed in the ideas forum to have angel units and demon units. So I did just that. The angel unit is too big for a hex, but if it gets moved down alot it fits.

Aren't angels meant to be white and fluffy.

I was more going for the huge illuminated "warrior- angel" than for the small guy with a toga and harp.

But he wouldn't be black with a red eye, even if he is a warrior angel. Look for graphics from "Heroes of Might and Magic" for what I think a warrior angel would look like.

I looked at that, but I'm more a fan of the shiny, golden armored giant. Now if I could only do a decent job at the armor.

But anyways I made a improvement to thee demon line:

I found the skull on a different unit and figured at least one of them should have something that resembled horms. I'll work on it.

But in the mean time, I completely reworked the angel, it now looks alot more like the demon, but I like the armor a lot more.

I move it around alittle it should fix it. If it still isnt working I might try getting rid of the skull and just using the horns.

Get rid of the elf head and use the skull as the head.

I was thinking the same, something like this:

(I don't do units so it doesn't look very good, but you get the idea)

I kind of wanted it to a retain a human / elf head. But it looks nice nonetheless.

I tried turning the horns up, it works decently, but I like the skull helmet better.

I'm opposed to demons and angels, but I would like to say the coloring looks good on the elf's clothing. The horns still look a little pasted on. The wings look familiar - are they yours or did you get them from somewhere. They remind me of Exile.

Point taken. the horns are pissing me off. As for the wings, they are modified from the fire dragon, they were the biggest and the out-there-on-back-est. As for Exile, I never played any of them. But I did play Avernum 3.

I bettered the armor design for the angel, and the spear.
