I would be interested in this. But you don´t have much of the needed art

I am not gonna make it, but what about an alien?
I know that I still must do something with this img. But I wanna know if I should continue
this?
Perhaps not... Not too wesnothish.
What do you mean? Is this going to be an era with spaceships or with normal fighters?

(It´s still Wesnoth.)

Dreampilot´s graphics are fairly OK.

He means the graphics don't fit with the Wesnoth engine.

If anyone here can draw tiles, here's a list of things that might be useful for a test of my ship idea...

Space - Basically just empty space, with stars.
Asteroid Field - Space with rocks.
Nebula - Wierd energy looking thing.
Spacedock - Replacement for castle and keep tiles.

I'm thinking for a test, to design two basic factions of ships, or maybe three... I have some ideas in the mill, so those are coming up. If anyone has other ideas for space terrain, feel free to add to the list.

They are, but I was describing things for whoever would wind up making tiles, albeit not very descriptively. I was pretty much hoping that the artist in question would have a general idea of what a nebula should look like, and how to implement it in a tile.

Dreampilot, crongrats! You are the first who succeeded in making Neoriceisgood writing in normal letters, and not in that usual bold green! :D

Concerning your graphics, they are not too bad, they could become the first "spacenothish" units.

I think this is a compliment... I'm not sure :P

As for the graphics I had some silly fun, I am finishing my devling project by animating them which can be tidious at times and I find ways to break the pattern.

Is there someone in charge of this project and a genuine intrest? I think it's a fun idea and I like Fmunoz marines. Great for "planet exploration" maps in a campaign.

Starting small seems like the best idea, use the 5 or 6 different terrain types and perhaps make planets that work as villages and spacedocks where you recuit your units. Each faction have their own line of spaceships, maybe 4 types to start and if desired a line of ground units aswell.

I made it look like the cartoony Wesnoth feel graphics but they're silly and you will probably not believe it but Starwars is the inspiration for the blue elephant. I'm very tempted making a mini campaign in this style with a hero I thought up as a kid but it will have to wait until the devlings are done. I might be able to help out with stray graphics but I could in no way make all the graphics you need for this.

Also I like to do things with a bit of humor so not sure what you want.

I certainly believe it! My first reaction to your graphics was: "hey, that looks like Max Rebo"

I like your graphics. Silly and humorous is good in my book. Maybe not for all games, but definately for Wesnoth :)

I don't think anyone's actually taken on the project yet, but I will if no one else is interested.

I'm working on three faction's worth of starships; these are my ideas so far.

Tyruleans
Average defense and resistance, balanced armament consisting primarily of laser batteries and fighter squadrons, reduced movement in both asteroid fields and nebulae.

Arake'en
Low defense, high resistance, close-range oriented armament consisting of laser batteries and ion cannons, with some torpedoes in advanced vessels, movement reduced for nebulae but not asteroids.

Iildarii
High defense, low resistance, long-range oriented armament consisting of torpedoes and fighter squadrons, with light ion cannons for close-range defense, movement reduced for asteroids but not nebulae.

Weapons (Also, attack types)

Laser Batteries (Energy)
Standard close range armament.

Ion Cannons [Slow] (Energy)
Specialized ECM cannon. Less damage than Laser Batteries.

Torpedoes [Guided {same as marksman}] (Solid)
Standard long range armament.

Fighter Squadron [Characteristics vary by race] (Vary by race)
A squadron of fighters launched by the attacking ship. Different race's fighter carry different armament.

Movetypes

Escort (Similiar to elusivefoot)
Ship of the Line (similiar to armoredfoot)

And so on and so forth... I have schoolwork, but I'll get back to this when I can.
