Welcome to the Lair? I've got turn 40. These freaks keep popping up... It doesn't stop. Bug? I'm using the latest version. 1.3.1.4

Anyway, great campaign. Mal Keshar is my favorite character so far.

I've reached turn 51 having killed a wave in one turn (mostly) or two turns at worst, and still they keep coming. Based on the previous questions, I'm guessing that whatever the boss trigger is, it isn't getting set correctly. Any fix?

As far as I can remember, one of the main characters must go to the bottom of the map, south diraction, Once there, the character should talk and then the scenario ends.

For my part, I'm playing on easy and except for some RPG scenarios, Mal keshar is capable of taking down a lot of strong targets by himself.

I'm using usually an army of spectres + shydes to defeat the opposing army while leveling a few units, so my recall list its getting big, sad thing I lost a few lvl 2 and 3 elves against the demons on the first levels and all my nightmares :(

Its still fun to play, tought it was impossible to enter the secret level (probably because the level isn't done, not your fault) and that it seems to be that undeads on campaings are rather unbalanced because I'm using more the undeads than the elves (except shyde)

Good job, my favourite level so far was the fight against the orc commander and his minion bosses, liked the dialogues. :)

I found some minor bugs : some units (crossbowmen, fungus) have attack types set incorectly : long instead of ranged so they do not fight back when attacked by ranged attack.

Okay, I decided to "cheat" and checked out the config file for the "Welcome to the lair" scenario. From what I can tell, there are supposed to be 4(?) waves of enemies appearing and after you defeat the 4th it's supposed to go to the next part. Apparantly there's a flaw somewhere in the logic and this doesn't occur. Can anyone whose programming knowedge is better than mine check this out & see exactly what the problem is?

Jyri

BTW, I did find a "fix", but it's a brute force method rather than a logic fix. I went into the save game file & changed the variable "e4boss_wavenum" to equal 4 (it was stuck at 2 in my game) and was able to finish.

I'm playing with revision 23515 and IftU version 0.10.0. There appears to be a bug in scenario 2 A Real Confrontation: On turn 3, I get two pieces of the intended chatter, and then an "error: invalid side(33) found in unit definition". It could be that you got the order of arguments for the LOYAL_UNIT macro wrong, it's {LOYAL_UNIT TYPE DESCRIPTION USER_DESCRIPTION SIDE X Y}.
The offending WML code starts at line 320 in the scenario file, hope that helps.

yoho, finally back from that business trip,
first thing to do, oc, playing iftu. well, here are my ramblings:

border patrol
great addition: the falcons. not as easy to level up units as it used to be. still, pretty straight forward, which is good.

a real confrontation
ooops, lol, that is not the scenario i used to be playing, good job, still i managed to kill all leaders on round 13 and did not get any bonus?

horrors from the depths
lol, that acme(tm) signpost just rulez. great map-changes too. improvements to the dialogues, now they (and the story too) finally make sense. and still, mal keshar 4tw!

over the sands
great rework of the map. just, what is that cave with the touchplate for? and that gryphon?

crossfire
seemed a bit too easy for my taste, playing on "normal". maybe a second recruitment wave of the loyalist would be good around turn 8-10.

the moon valley
nice reinforcements, nice yeti

elf versus goliath
opposition could be a bit more agressive

an errand of hope
huge battle, nice map

the library
good map reworking, better text too

the source of light
pretty straightforward now

strike on new knalga
that dwarfen king is just a suicidal nut. can't he stay on his castle? btw, his death doesn't trigger defeat

the escape
that imp got himself a nice freezing from mal, lol

face your fate
well actually i might be able to delay that assault commander indefinitely with skeleton archers (or at least till gold runs out ...)

bye and behold
maybe too many enemies and too strong allies, bit balancing would be good, and yea, woses make no sense

dealing with orcs
omfg, bunnies ...

Arrival
nice tough fighting, still woses make so no sense ...

dawn of the great war
very nice setting, just important to kill the first wave then everything is good

infested pass
lol, pulling those aragwhatevertheirnameis across that terrain is something for the patient people ...

wesmere
hmmm, nice mix of enemies, still, i am missing something, like maybe a third enemy in the middle bottom who starts recruiting as you defeat the other ones

trial of the armageddon
epic stuff, truly, though the imp is too good kiteable, maybe make him more aggressive somehow?

under the sands
somehow, just can't get that special ability of the lighty girl to work, (right ok, u gotta let her rest a turn and then rightclick, maybe someone gonna explain that). hmmm, btw, now i know what always been disturbing me:
analia, you know, that name ..., it's somehow like a super-pornstar, just had to say that
another thought, well, you wanted to code an epic campaign, and boy, it never felt like this as in this scenario. without galas and with the light bulb on her way, everything tends to go wrong.
those two are important, and it feels like it.

lands of chaos
nice quick slaughter

the heart
huge, really. besides that, it's fun playing your own allies.

Innuendo
hmmm, quite passive those enemies, good endfight though, i just love slowing those oversized thingies with the lady and then berserking them with galas

gauntlet
kewl, that vast lava landscape.
also good: build a tactical formation or perish. great stuff. you wanted to make an epic campaign, there you got one.
great storyline too, i am really EAGER to know what's gonna happen next

interim
already cool from the beginning on are the auras, very, very, good job. lord, that group of heroes is death incarnate.
i don't remember how often "my" galas got poisoned, really a reason to give HIM the regen drink.

equipment/levelling:

galas: ring of speed, ring of regeneration, berserk potion, strength potion (killer, sorta).
igor (now a lvl3 wolf rider): draining melee (killer, sorta too)

welcome to the lair
wootage, galas' native american name is now 'slays armies", lol, still, they don't stop. which, after turn 160, really does make things kinda boring.

right, thank u for all those hours and days of thrilling gameplay you gave me, i am pretty sure u are going mainline with that one, and maybe u're even gonna make one of the best wesnoth expert campaigns ever. and also, if u really need someone to do german translation, well ok, i herewith volunteer (if the other guy falls out of the loop). if that might be necessary, reply me personal and i will send u my e-mail address.

A library does not have to have books (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Library), it can just be a place filled with knowledge (like I could start a library and it just be a ginormous room filled with comps which would essentially have encyclopedias on the comps). And the glyphs tell you their stored knowledge so that cave is essentially the library...

I gave both the berserk potion and the draining potion to Galas. He killed pretty much everything alone, including bosses (didn't even need to slow any of them) :D

Edit: Also gave him the Void Armor.

yea, i thought about that too, but me wanted to have the ability to either send in a group of deadly heroes or to split them up to cover several hotspots. oc igor is not a goblin knight but the lvl3 direwolf, edited that. really good about him imho is his ability to soak up damage like mad, for example from three assault drones, then take a bite or two from a nearby chaos mage and everything is fine again. also, together with two or three spectres he can form one hell of a scout group. but i guess that all depends on playstyle. oh yea, forgot the armor, guess there is just too much stuff in that campaign :D

Shadow Master, I have a question about the story.
When Galas asked what Wesnoth is and Analia said it was west of the "Silver Lands" I was wondering how far east these Silver Lands are from Wesnoth and if they are part of the Great Continent.

Also I was wondering if these Silver Lands have a story.

I picked it with a Revenant. I think that Elvish Fighter line can also pick it up
