Problems in campaign Invasion of Arendia and crash of Wesnot

Post by tillea »

Hi,

my son really likes Invasion of Arendia and thus I tested it
a little bit (while making Debian packages of it and the
campaign Imperial Era which is a precondition). Doing this
I found some bugs I want to report here.

At first I would like to point out that I had to do some tweaks
to get up to this point. I used some symlinks to some naga
images and also had to patch one scenario. Please find these
patches at

http://people.debian.org/~tille/package ... ioa/patch/

and feel free to ask in case of questions. (I also had to patch
Imperial Era, which can be found here
http://people.debian.org/~tille/package ... -ie/patch/ )

In scenario 17 I now faced a Wesnoth crash I was unable to work
around. The archive I attached contains two saves files that only
differs in the saving method (binary / ascii) and the output to
stdin and stderr once you open theses saves. IMHO the interesting
line is
error display: could not open image ''
but I have no idea what image might be missing and furthermore
Wesnoth should not crash in any case but report a reasonable error
message.
(In case you have trouble to open the attached archive the files of
the archive can be found here
http://people.debian.org/~tille/package ... -ioa/bugs/
as well.)

Kind regards

Andreas.

Thanks for the bug reports, although in future please post in the IoA thread, I have it set up to e-mail me when there is a reply on that topic. I'll look into them some time soon (probably this evening) and add those patches at the same time.

I've looked at the path (finally, sorry for the delay, but school got in the way, and school takes priority), and they are both valid, it seems the image file problems were because the mainline images were re-named or I used to have the naga images being supplied with the campagin and the scenario problems were either just me being stupid or Turin changed the unit id's, again, without me noticing.

The reason for the bug in scenario 17 is that it doesn't exist yet, infact there are only 15 complete sceanrios (there is a file for the 16th, so that the game prompts you for a end of scenario save so you can continue when sceanrio 16 is added instead of going to credits, however it is just the basics and is intentionally broken)
