No! It's a great feature! It speeds up parsing of text by a considerable amount since the engine won't check (variable == 'a' || variable == 'A'), it'll just do (variable == 'a').
And it is how Unix filesystems work, so be careful with your file names and how you use them from WML; don't use spaces either in their names (because otherwise they are attempted to be used as macros in most places).
