Re: Best two units, the tournament

Just tested the fixed Era with the default map CotB and the incomes, including the p2 preflagged vill, are +2 and +6.
Combined with the modified maps (preflagged vill from turn 2 on) it was +2 and +4, which appears to be correct.
Now is that fixed Era actually doing something new ?

Apparently, it doesn't. I tried it too and the bugs still remains... although I don't see any problem in patching the PYR maps, since we already use them and, in fact, anyone who cares about well-balanced match uses those maps.
Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

yes it does. or do you think the code added by me has no effect ....
i suggest you read some of the former posts.

quote from mint:
The extra income issue is gone, but apparently p2 starts with 2 more gold than p1. That could be enough for the 1 extra game changer.

but since this seems to be difficult:
----------------------------------
the problem was that on maps with preowned villages, the era (and the fixed maps) still gacve p2 +2 gold on turn 2, since the preowned-village already produced 2 gold on turn 1.

IMPORTANT:
----------------
OFC the "era" DOESNT work with "default" maps, since the problem with the income-calculation was fixed in the maps and not in the era. that was not implemented by me, by the way

i didnt invent that solution (to fix the maps and not the era), because i actually think it is inferior. the era could be as well adapted to deal with it all alone (and thus work with default maps too)

but since the "fixed" maps are on the server, its clear that we cannot solve the same problem twice, so i had to work with what is there. and that is:
use the "fixed" maps, and simply get rid of the +2 gold (or more) for player 2 in case of a preowned village (or more)

Alrighty, whatever, so maps stay with preflagged vills on turn2 and this new Era-Version is required. :)

mint sums it up.
orc rush proved to be even more fatal then in the first game. i enjoyed it.
in any case mint seems to know what he is doing :)

while i believed in my cavs supernatural powers and decided to take a handful grunts out at dusk :P

edit. i still cannot believe that the grunts took out the skeletons.

Mint vs Dunno again :| This time on the freelands.
Spoiler:
PS: I forgot to save replay  so I got this replay from autosave reload. If it's found broken/has no chat then I'll hunt around on the replays server for its proper one.

Edit; I can't believe I forgot the replay after writing explanation about it
