Those flagstones look so nice, I want to find some way of fitting them into my campaign. I really have nothing to say about them.

The metal grate looks a bit blurry and undefined to me, though. Not sure if it's the white background however, that could be messing it up.

I also can't really tell what the splash is until I read the name. Maybe make it clearer, add ripples and throw a few more droplets over the place? (PS: I don't actually have any idea how to render water splashes)

That implosion would look nice as EoMa's Dark Master's attack.

Feel free to use any of this stuff, I didn't create it for anything specific, and I'd be glad to see it used somewhere. :)

I'll notify the guys over in EoMa's thread. Thanks.

Over all, (for the attack anims) more contrast.

I'm pretty impressed! Not sure about the eyes, though.

Legs look really nice, but the arms lack a bit of definition. Just practicing/experimenting around a bit, so take it as such, but without adding to the color count, mixed some colors around to improve the range/break the monotony. :hmm: I like the effect, though it's very subtle.

Thanks Zero! :) Yeah, the eyes are still bugging me… I was trying to give him a slightly protruding brow, but I'm not sure it's working all that well.

shiremct: Interesting point. I do feel like I'm missing an intermediate shade between the highlight and the lightest midtone on the armor, and using the lighter skin shade works perfectly, while adding some color and 'tying in' the rest of the body with the head. It's a concept I haven't really played around with a whole lot to date, I'll have to tinker around with it some more. Thanks for sharing that. :)

Here's a revision, which fixes some small issues (banding on his right boot, a tangent between the outline of his head and the outline of his left pauldron, etc.). Did I mention I'm becoming a freaking perfectionist? :augh: I have to literally force myself to stop working on something, because I'm seeing issues where there are none.

What-ho, another bald dude in armor (pixelling bald heads is fun :P ). Only this bald guy has a massive metal skirt kilt.

I'm actually pretty proud of this one, especially the way the cloak turned out (I've always had trouble with cloth, cloaks in particular). I'd like to give him a weapon of some sort, but everything I've tried thus far just hasn't worked out. >.<

So, another weaponless baldie. Cheers.

Bald heads do look fun. :D I should try them sometime.

I must say though, the central area of the sprite looks very flat. I think it's coming from the flatness of the cloth he's wearing, the armoured (?) kilt, and the fact the plate's been whited out. Those pauldrons are very good though - they look even better than some mainline ones. :)

Anyway, I had a little free time, so here's what I made of it.

EDIT: :augh: I think it might have been my computer screen, I was fiddling with my settings (brightness mainly) and now it looks like there's a lot more depth...
so never mind my previous comment.

... sorry, but I disagree completely, and think you've just made it flatter.

@Reepurr: You know, monitors aside, I thought the same thing at first, but playing around with different palette shades just made it look wrong. :hmm:

EDIT: Yay helmet?

Maybe his pants should be a different colour? The plate skirt looks kind of like it's just puffy pant legs.

If he has a helmet, he needs a weapon. Without a helmet, he looks like some unarmed noble. With it, he looks more like a soldier.

Man, you're improving fast. Your palette usage is much better than before, especially with the higher contrast and lessened use of faded greys. I'm pretty sure I like Artisticdude's version over Reepurr's edits- but one thing you have to tackle now is HAIR.

Come on, not everybody can be bald. It took me a long time to pick up on hair (and I'm still learning) but you have gotta start somewhere. I'm reasonably sure that you're good enough to draw hair now- give it a shot!
