A Cow Sprite

Post by Gambit »

I need a cow sprite for Gambits Empire Builder. The one that I borrowed from Flight To Freedom just doesnt look right.

I need:

A Still

1-2 with the tail flickering for idle

1-3 of it kicking for its attack

And possibly one for when its moving.

And hopefully one of it with its head down eating.

I need them to look like they actually belong in wesnoth.

Whoever made this would of course go in the README's credit section and be put in the Story credits (the ones that display every time the game is played) as an "artist"

It would be really pwnsome if someone knew where I could find these or if someone could make them for me.

I saw someone say artists dont like to go through the trouble making things unless they know its going to get used. Download my addon for yourself. Youll be sure right away that your artwork will be put to good use.

I mixed white with darker white and added humps like real cows and made the bands magenta.
PS: What is more wesnothian art

also you need to transparency them. paint the background teal in paint. then open them in Microsoft Photo Editor. tools->set transparent color

then click on teh background. then save. :D

and what i mean by more wesnothian is look at that cow next to a bowman. notice the difference? they're two way different art styles.

I saw a few differences. each color has very light, light, medium and dark. You may put some colors beside each other for contrast. But not to much contrast unless when you want to make a bed haired sprite. And the edges must always have dark or medium as color. I made it a bit more wesnoth art and added hooves and a shadow. But almost no difference

I moved the head one pixel to the left and added shading which made it darker but maybe less flat looking

Maybe too cartoon y. But you can announce on the main thread some sort of election for team colored spots or not. But still a good idea. Here is a team color spotted cow sprite

60% transparent shadow is kind of a listed requirement to fit with other sprites.
