WML Translations?

Is WML translated into differant languages?
Or is it all english

Only english. But you can still do WML if you don't know english. If WML was in latin, I could probably figure it out, because it wouldn't really be latin, but rather a programming language that uses about 200 latin words as symbols.

Translating user visibile content is possible and usefull but why would you want to translate the language? It's neither very complex english to learn for you nor would it be readable for most anymore if it were translated...

You could make a parser that takes in a WML file with german/etc keywords and spits out an English version for the game to read, but I doubt it would be worth the extra effort involved of maintaining two files for each scenario, not to mention the time writing the parser and collecting translations.

Localizing WML could be useful for non English speaking users. It allows one to easier read scenario code.

So, here is a simple Perl script. The localization is not perfect, it only translates tags and attributes, not values (e.g. "=yes" and "=no").


Usage:

wml10n.pl --language xx --reverse --input english.cfg --output local.cfg
Translates from English to your language (useful for studying official scenarios).

wml10n.pl --language xx --input local.cfg --output english.cfg
Translates from your language to English.


BTW: Do not use accented letters in WML!
